Very odd. Muscle Mike had worked on his Mariners for three years, culminating in the excellent squad he has assembled for the 2007 season. They have just enjoyed another win in a seven-game streak. The hitters are hitting, pitchers pitching, fielders fielding.
Is Mike simply burned out? Could be, he's had a long career. Four years of that career were thanklessly babysitting Peter Angelos's barbecued birds. That alone would be enough to drive mad an ordinary man.
