I've been to a few of these protests, it would make you sick to witness what goes on. These people truly think that they are entitled to this land, despite the fact that they have no historical ties to it. The entire current State of California had only 7,000-10,000 Spaniards (White European Ranchers for the most part) living on its land before they, and other White European settlers (In the North) revolted against Mexico, which had only held it for a meager 35 years since their revolution from Spain (White European nation). The indiginous natives of California are not, were not, and never will be related to the mestizo illegals who come here now. They base their claim on the fairy tale of Aztlan, despite no physical or factual evidence. Its like saying that since the Irish have a myth that they come from Israel (as one of the lost tribes), that they should be able to go take it back from the current inhabitants. In addition to all of those facts, the American Southwest was not won from Mexico in the Mexican-American War, in which they were the aggressor, it was paid for in cash through the treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo and the Gadsden purchases respectively. They have no legal, historical, or morale claim to any of this land. Its a myth perpetuated by the "open borders" globalists and their idiot leftist peons.
