I guess he didn`t want to deal with the media speculating about his futureas the season wound downand he figured it would be better to give his son the opportunity to ease into the job this year.

Quote from Jerry Sloan on Bobby Knight`s retirement:

"He believes in discipline and trying to teach kids how to be men...instead of being goofballs."

Thanks for the memories, Coach Knight.

Coach Knight was one of the greatest coaches in the history of basketball. He instilled discipline and work ethic into his players, and didn't treat them like pampered little primadonnas (as most caste "superstars" are baby'd these days). He was a brilliant strategist and had a drive to win. God bless Coach Knight!

And, he's one of the very, very few, who didn't cheat to win.

I'm not a big basketball fan, but Bobby Knight was a legendand he will be missed. I like the quote from Jerry Sloan as well. Sloan is a coach in the same mold as Knight.
