Redskins picked up WR nathan black as a free agent. i don't know if he
will stay on the team until next season, but it is cool for me because
I am a skins fan.

Not much chance of that. Joe Gibbs was part of a crusade by Nascar to
"diversify" that sport. He is enamored with obnoxious thugs like Sean
Taylor and ignorant, overrated bufoons like Fred Smoot. He
strongly considered drafting Kellen Winslow, Jr. last year, before
finally opting for Taylor, who isn't a much more attractive human
being. Winslow, Jr. is quite possibly the most arrogant and annoying
idiot to arrive in the NFL in recent memory. His father, Kellen
Winslow, Sr., is a vicious racist who absolutely despises white people.
Of course, this doesn't keep the media from paying him big bucks
as a commentator.

Don't forget too that Gibbs gave the royal shafting to John Standeford, the Big 10 career receptions leader. Gibbs wouldn't play him in any of the Redskins' five exhibition games last summer before cutting him. Even the most obscure free agents get to play some in preseason, much less someone with the record-breaking pedigree of Standeford. What chance does Nathan Black have?

To prove that he wasn't "out of touch" after being out of coaching since the early '90s, Gibbs came back embracing the caste system with a vengeance. In return he got the usual result from the Redskins -- lousy talent, lousy effort.

Speaking of Kellen Winslow JR, isn't he half white? I though his father married the standard white trophy broad awarded to all famous black athletes.

I really don't know what gibbs has done, but you must remember he was
one of the few coaches to feature a white tailback (john riggins) in
the last 25 yrs. or atleast i think gibbs is the only one to do so.
anyway, i hope that nathan black stays. did standeford get picked up by
another team?

Riggins started his career with the Jets, but had already been on the Redskins for five seasons before Gibbs became Washington's head coach, so Caste System-lovin' Joe doesn't get credit there.

Standeford was signed by the Colts on 9/15/04, released from their practice squad 10/4 and then re-signed to the practice squad 10/6. He may or may not still be in the Indianapolis organization, which, considering he's from Indiana and went to Purdue and the Colts' relative friendliness to white receivers, is probably his best shot to reach the NFL. Hopefully he'll get the opportunity to play in NFL Europe this year.
