Has anyone been keeping up with the story about the Mets deliberately signing Hispanic ball players to broaden their market appeal?

Its been on ESPN radio all day, but I didn't seen any articles on the ESPN site about it. Its been interesting listening to the contortions the radidiots are going through to justify this practice. "Its a business decision! Its all about the market!"

They've commented that when Ichiro plays in Seattle, the Asian community arrives in droves, to the tune of 10,000 more tickets sold. Same thing when Pedro Martinez pitches, 1,000's more tickets sold to Hispanic consumers.

Cowturd got into a somewhat heated discussion with one caller after Cowturd said it was the same as BET. The caller said you can't have a WET channel; Cowturd said 50 years ago all channels were WET channels. The caller objected that was old, but Cowturd of course disconnected the caller.

The afternoon host (after Dan Patrick) seemed to be okay with it til he took it to the ultimate conclusion - would it be okay if a major league team wanted to recruit all or only white players to please its fan base? Of course, this made him, and I quote, "queasy," so he said if you can't have it for one race you can't have it for any, and to him the risk of discrimination outweighed the economic benefits. Most of the callers to the show that I heard said they thought it was okay, but predictably waffled when asked if it was okay for a team to deliberately hire all white men, or sign a majority white team, for the purposes of appealing to their fan base.

One caller from Houston mentioned the heat the Astros received by fielding too many white players, and the radidiots seemed to skirt the issue without generally answering why the 'Stros received so much negative attention but nothing seems to be wrong with the Mets basically doing not only the same thing with Hispanics, but doing so while openly admitting that is what they are doing.

If the Mets looked in the stands at their home games they would still see an almost all-white crowd. ESPN will of course stick up for this type of blatant racism and at the same time question the A's and Astros for having too many whites.
Whether it's about winning or filling the seats, it makes more sense to push for an all-white team.

The Amazin' Mets

Seaver, Koosman, Nolan Ryan, Swoboda, McAndrew, Grote, Boyer, Kranepool. Boswell, McGraw, Gentry, Cardwell, Hudson, Weis, Cal Koonce, and -- evenWayne Garrett-- were all actually Puerto Ricans with plastic surgery to make them look Caucasoid. Betcha didn't know!Edited by: Realgeorge

When will more people wake up and realize this?
