just a quick note. Justin Boyle has emerged as the starting tailback at Duke. he was mentioned briefly in another thread, but has now claimed the featured back spot.

Boyle leads the Blue Devils with five touchdowns and 55.4 yards per game on the ground. according to his bio, he's a pretty impressive back. and he's just a sophomore.

i don't know much about Duke football, except that they usually suck, but he's another guy we can root for.

anyone know anything else about him? or catch any Duke games? also, he and the other top 2 backs were hurt last week against Navy, so it's unclear if he'll play this week at Miami...Edited by: Jimmy Chitwood

I played against him in high school he's the complete package of size sped and moves, he runs a 4.50 at 220. Justin looks like a clone of Kyle Bell but a better open field runner. As a freshman he had an 83 yard run against the Citadel. Duke has used him as their power tailback and fullback in there spread formation. He's been their featured back before so he should play verse Miami. Harrison High School were he went is one of the top high schools in Georgia. In addition to Justin it produced Tim Cesa fullback Maryland 03, Jon Abbate freshman all American linebacker 03, Scot Lenahan DL North Carolina03, James Case DE Miami of Ohio. Harrison has another white D-1 running back this year named Tyler Evens.Edited by: white tornado

He's a senior at Harrison and is being recruited by numerous mid major schools. Tyler's putting up great stats I'll post them next time there in the local paper.

Justin must be hurt, because he isn't playing at all today. On the bright side, a white RB for Duke named Daniel Casanas has carried tha ball 8 times so far, for 26 yards.

Here's a pic of Justin Boyle running this year.

Boyle is returning to action this weekend as Duke hosts Georgia Tech, after missing last week's game with a hip injury. Boyle, the leading rusher on the team, won't be 100% but at least the team's best TB will be on the field. the second and third string guys are still hurt, as are Duke's best two receivers. it's uncertain if any will play...

good luck to Justin as he makes his comeback.

Today Justin had 6 carries for 21 yards and a TD, and a 1 yard catch. Duke used a 3 back system today, with all three getting fairly equal carries. Even though he hasn't been used much the last few weeks, he still leads the team in rushing, and will for the year if he can have one more decent game. Duke finishes the year in 2 weeks against North Carolina.

Justin had 10 carries for 44 yards and a score in a close loss to North Carolina today. Two other black backs had more carries than him, but with only 24 and -4 yards, not so respectively. If they would give Justin more carries, I bet he would really shine! Let's hope next year brings more opportunity for this great white running back!
