Someone try and clear this up for me but the NFL has basically sanctioned drug use. Shawn Merriman is caught taking steroids and what does he get--a few games. WHAT? Tennis which recently instituted a drug plan essentially bans a player for life if caught. One guy has I think a 3 to 7 year ban and a young female player at least a couple of years. In baseball the feds--oh gee don't you think they have more important things to do than chase baseball players--or porn--around. One would think rooting out terrorist a- holes from blowing up planes etc.. would trump all this other bs but I digress.
The feds are hunting down baseball players who used drugs when the league itself back then gave it the "secret" green light. And there was no rule in place at the time--the union has a point. And it is all over the media. But football players who shoot up steroids then chase it down with HGH to cover it up during the testing season are so full of pumped up drugs yet all the media can focus on is Barry Bonds and baseball etc.. I am for justice and strong pro sports drug policies but the hypocricy is so rampant the whole thing smells.
Merriman is proof of a player who has been helped by perfomance enhancing drugs--the NFL is one big creepscape.

The bigger thing to me is that he was sent to the Pro Bowl and is up for defensive MVP. Jason Taylor was right to speak out against this; I understand that he wants to win the MVP as well, but he's always seemed very classy and upstanding. Is one of his parents white or mixed? He doesn't carry himself like the thugs and is very articulate; along with his appearance, I've always wondered.

I was glad Jason Taylor spoke out against Merriman's use of steroids.

If Merriman actually wins the award, it's pathetic. He played with the help of steroids through at least the first part of the year before being caught.

Well, shame on Zach for letting that happen in the first place.
