Unbeaten heavyweight Sultan Ibragimov annihilated Andy Sample in round one Friday night at the Orleans Casino in Las Vegas. Ibragimov (15-0, 13 KOs) dropped Sample (32-11-2, 21 KOs) three times with body shots before the slaughter was halted at 2:47 of round one. Ibragimov retained his WBO Asia Pacific heavyweight belt with the win.

Both the Ibragimov's seem to be very good, I'd like to see them step it up a little bit.I like these Eastern European fighters.Over this last weekend 3 good White fighters won in the Heavyweight Class-Maskaev and the Ibragimov's.I can remember a time when White Heavyweights would not win that many fights in 6 months! The Russians seem to have given the White males back there gonads! We see these guys knocking out blacks and it build's a new image in people's minds, White men can fight and do it very well. I hope they keep WINNING!!I 'd like to see some American guys do well also, it's to bad we lost Joe Mesi he was good. Almost every week some White Heavyweight is fighting[mostly Europe-mainly Germany-mainly Russians/Ukrainians. One that I am watching is Vladimir Virchis-he is tough and strong.

On Sept. 16, from Duluth, GA, Ibragimov will defend his World Boxing Organization Asia Pacific heavyweight championship against Friday "The 13th" Ahunanya of Las Vegas in a 12-round title bout.

The 30-year-old Ibragimov, a silver medalist for Russia at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, has a record of 17-0 with 15 knockouts and is ranked No. 8 by the WBO.

The 33-year-old Ahunanya, originally from Nigeria, has a record of 20-3-2 with 11 knockouts.

Ibragimov, a southpaw who now lives in Miami, Fla., is a devastating body puncher and fights in an aggressive style reminiscent of Joe Frazier.
