Was listening to the 4th quarter of the Jazz win over Philadelphia and Harpring, AK, Okur, and Giricek were on the floor at once. This was when the game was on the line, not during garbarge time. Other player was Palacios who is some type of black Latin. When was the last time an NBA team fielded four out of five white players (Okur is lightskinned Turk) during important part of a game, or for that matter no regular black player at all when you take into consideration Palacios' status. Go Jazz, quite a blow for NBA diversity. Imagine, a team that looks more like America. Diversity lovers should look up to the Jazz.

Ever since AK47 has come back from injury the Jazz have been great. So
Let's hope he stays injury free for the rest of the season.

His teammates said you would think he would have 2 or 3 by now, considering how he plays. I bet it won't be long before he has 5.

With Kirilenko's shot-blocking ability, that got me wondering about how many quadruple-doubles there have been in NBA history. Just four it turns out sinceblocks and steals began being recorded in '73-'74. AK-47 may become the fifth.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadruple-double

A quadruple-double is a basketball term, defined as an individual performance in a game in which a player accumulates a double digit number total in any four of these categories: points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocked shots. In NBA history, there have been only four recorded quadruple-double performances. (There have been no quintuple-double performances.) They are:

Nate Thurmond, October 18, 1974, Chicago vs. Atlanta; 22 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists, 12 blocks

Alvin Robertson, February 18, 1986, San Antonio vs. Phoenix; 20 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 steals

Hakeem Olajuwon, March 29, 1990, Houston vs. Milwaukee; 18 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists, 11 blocks

David Robinson, February 17, 1994, San Antonio vs. Detroit; 35 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 blocks
[/list]

It should be noted that the NBA started recording both blocks and steals in the 1973-74 season, so this particular feat has only been possible since then. Since it has only recently become possible, some people speculate that Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain, the two best all-around players before that time, might have each had more than one quadruple-double, as they both were very skilled at blocking shots and stealing the ball. However, as not many games of that time were recorded on video and blocks and steals were not official statistics at the time, it will only be speculation.Edited by: Don Wassall

Wow, none in 12 years! What does that say for the overall level of play?

Do you think Kirilenko will become the first white NBA player everto have a quad double? Who else playing right now has a chance?

Larry Bird needed only one steal to get a Quadruple double with the whole forth left to play, but he decided to sit out the rest of the game saying"Ive already caused enough damage"

Typical white unselfishness. I think AK will have a chance at some point. He is certainly being hyped by the Utah press. The Jazz play at Denver tonight at 9PM Eastern. Should be a good one! Utah can go ahead of Denver into first place in the Northwest Division of the Western Conference with a win over them tonight. They are currently 1/2 game back.
