I've read the book and it's a very interesting idea. A retail sales tax (23% inclusive, or 30% exclusive, I think that's right) to replace the IRS, payroll, Social Security, Medicare, and many other taxes. And it's revenue neutral, designed to fund the government as is. Meaning that if someone could finally drastically slash spending (neither Dems or Repubs are interested in doing that,) the sales tax could be lowered as well.

Once they have the federal sales tax they will add an income tax and everything else we have now. No way to stop it, the fedgov is a monster out of control, a sales tax will not cage it.
