100 meters is indisputably number one. No question about
that. It's the shortest, fastest sprint, and the highest profile
event. I would put long jump at number two, and 200 meters at
number three. Along with the speed positions in football, those
are our greatest areas of need. We had a clean sweep in both
men's and women's high jump in the Olympics, so at least for
now we're competitive there. And I think a lot of people
consider the long jump to be about pure explosive jumping
ability, and that the high jump is more about technique.
Then again, maybe they think that
because the long jump
is more dominated by blacks. Whatever the blacks do better,
that is what's
glorified. If whites were superior 100m
sprinters, and blacks were superior at shotput and hammer
throw and whatnot, the media and sports fans would glorify
strength above speed. Whites would be "fast little guys" and
the blacks would be "mighty warriors." Okay, that's a bit
tongue in cheek, but I do think it's true to an extent. If whites
ever become competitive in a position/ event like running back,
cornerback, sprinting, long jumping, etc., it wouldn't surprise
me one bit if that position/ event loses some of its luster in the
eyes of the M*ndingo- seeking media and fans. And the more
competitive we become, the less it will be glorified. The media
and sports fans will constantly seek out any area where
non-whites are better than whites and obsess over it.
Maybe someday track and football will become like hockey:
white dominated, and half despised/ half ignored by the media.
They'll be reduced to covering Asians playing ping pong.
