Since 2006, NC State has started 5, 7, 7, 8, 9, 11, 5, 4, 4, 3, 4, 3, 4, 4, and 7 white guys. In 2021 they look to be at 5.

Numbers aren’t great but the Thomas brothers and Payton Wilson make this a watchable team, especially with Leary at QB. Thomas and Wilson make a nice duo at LB and Wilson could be an early draft pick next season if he decides to leave. Thayer Thomas should have an NFL future, not sure if he will be drafted but he will be on a team. He’s been the starting slot/punt returner since 2018. OG Dylan McMahon is the younger brother of former Florida State 4 year starting center Ryan McMahon.

Players to watch: QB Ben Finley, QB Aaron McLaughlin, TE Andrew Jayne, TE Kameron Walker, OL Ethan Lane, OL Patrick Matan, LB Caden Fordham

OFFENSE
QB Devin Leary (SO)
WR Thayer Thomas (JR)
LG Dylan McMahon (FR)

DEFENSE
LB Payton Wilson (SO)
LB Drake Thomas (SO)

Nice write up! Wilson looks like a future Pro at LB.

Wilson is a lot of fun to watch. He plays hard, is reckless at times and has a bit of an edge to him.

I just don’t know if he will fit in “today’s nfl” - aka he isn’t a black db that runs a 4.7 40 but is somehow viewed as a good hybrid coverage player.

In all seriousness Wilson and Mike Rose from Iowa St should both be firmly in the late 1st round/early 2nd round discussion for the draft.
