2012 East Carolina Pirates

The number of Whites startin at ECU is currently at a high not seen for many seasons. Since '06 they've had 7, 6, 4, 3, 9 and 7 White starters. Look for as many as 11 Whites in 2012. It is nice to see a team improving for a change!

Some White backups to look for include RB Hunter Furr (transfer from UNC and one of the worst screwed White RBs ever), WR(Z) Brandon Weymann, Cs C.J. Struyk and Josh Clark, LG Drew Gentry, RG Stewart Hinson, RT Chaz Lowery, OLBs Jake Geary and James Craig, FSs Justin Venable and Cody Lyon, and CB Rocco Scarfone.

As good as this is to see, I'm afraid this might just be a short time deal. ECU has been historically dark and their 2012 class had only 4 whites out of 20, while their current 2013 class has none. Hopefully, this team helps put out a good example and change the minds of the coaching staff.

I'd like to mention cb Rocco Scarfone might get some playing time this year as he was on their 2 deep at the end of Spring camp.
Also Athlon's 2012 college magazine came out and not surprisingly they said Hunter Furr would be there short yardage back. Wow!!!
At least on collegefootballnews.com they said Furr had the best size/speed ratio of anybody on the team and might eventually push for a starting job.
