    Craig Pickering

In the video from Gateshead, I noticed after the racePickering was friendly with the other young white British sprinter, Richard Kilty. HopefullyKiltycan raise his game and get among the relay squad, and ease the pressure on Craig by breaking up the black mafia. Looking forward to Rieti - a...

Superstar Women of Track & Field.

Gotta add Carolina Kluft to this list - the greatest female athlete of all time and a blonde, blue-eyed valkyrie to boot!

Simone Collio runs a 10.06 wind legal.

10.49? Ouch. Very sad that that happened, as he won't have too many for chances aged 29. Still, I always remember that Linford Christie didn't peak till he won the 1993 WC in 9.87, aged 33. Hopefully Collio will be lining up in the final of the Euro Champs next year, alongside Pickering...

Yeah, it was a good finish to a bad season. Whites usually react better to cold conditions (we're built for them!) but you can still knock off at least two-tenths from all the times. Plus there was a strong headwind, and I think it may have actually been raining for the B race. It wasn't raining...

Sorry, meant to say Williamson and Edgar beat him in the trials; he beat AA.

I didn't actually see the B race, but was following it via BBC text. Here's the complete text: "1615: It's the men's B 100m final. Devonish returns to the track half an hour after his 200m race. Good effort. Craig Pickering who didn't even get a run in Berlin will be like a bull in a china...

Simone Collio runs a 10.06 wind legal.

What time did he run at the WC?

    Tim Benjamin

Real shame about Tim. The 400 is such a gruelling event, so many injuries. Grindley was finished by age 20; Roger Black missed four years of his prime; Iwan Thomas was never able to recreate his great period from 96-98 because of injuries; and Derek Redmond's collapse on the trackat the Olympics...

    Craig Pickering

That's bizarre. I mean, up till this season he's been faster and ranked higher than Edgar and Devonish. How does it work - do they train at universities in the US? Is it a case of the US universities choosing who they want, and not selecting Craig for caste reasons? White lightning, you seem...

Does Craig not train overseas in the winter? That really surprises me - I thought pretty much all the elite UK sprinters went to Australia/South Africa/US. I sure as hell wouldn't want to be running on tracks here in England in January.....it's hard enough to get out of the front door!

Wariner is back and may threaten 43.19!

About Johnson, he didn't drop that much time in 1996: I mean, he ran a 43.98 in 1992, aged 24. Even if he was on PEDs, he was a phenomenon - just like Bolt. The Olympic Final in 96 was 43.49 )(Johnson)to 44.41 (Black), a difference of 0.92 seconds (I just checked it!) That's a heck of a lot. In...

Wariner is back and may threaten 43.19!

Thanks for the kind comments. Btw StarWars, I wouldn't say Roger Black has been forgotten over here in the UK; he's still well-known and respected, and in the media quite a bit. It does bug me that Pettigrew hasn't been stripped of the 91 WC Gold and Black awarded it instead: being able to say...

Wariner is back and may threaten 43.19!

I hope Wariner can get back to the top - it was great to have a completely dominant white guy in a sprint, as he was before. Bit off topic, but this reminds me of the duel between my hero back in the 90s, Roger Black, and Du-aine Ladejo. Black (who was white, lol) was a great runner, silver...

Christophe Lemaitre "White Lightning" 9.92 and 19.80!

Thanks for the youtube clip white lightning. Very impressive! I agree with FastEuro that Christophe should avoid the indoor season this year, and concentrate on training hard for the European Championships outdoor, which he could very possibly win. Firstly nobody really cares about the indoors...
