Alright guys what are your thoughts on flu shots. Necessary or unnecssary? Safe or unsafe? I've been doing some research on them and there are some really messed up chemicals in them such as mercury. Are these shots just another tool to use for "population control" or do they work and have no side effects. Also another thought I've been having is seeing a correlation between when people first started getting these shots and the severe increase in Autism reports these past couple decades. I don't know maybe I'm being paranoid or thinking too "outside" the box but something just seems fishy to me about the whole thing. I'll be watching the news and every channel , NBC/CBS/FOX,ect..., all have these pre-made news clips about getting the flu shot and to me it all seems like a prepackaged deal. What do you guys think...

FWIW, I think that we are better off without them. Reason? I do believe that we need to allow our immune systems to try and do their jobs. If we "augment" these systems, I think that it thins them out to some degree and makes us more vulnerable UNLESS we get another flu jab...and so it goes.

True, some have low immunities in the first place and maybe the older we get (like 70+) there may come a time for them. Depends on individual health.

Without the "dreaded" swine flu hysteria, some 36000 people in this country alone die from flu-related causes. It just happens. Friend of mine had a bout with for about 3 days (so says the doc) and he recovered fully. I think that may be the case with most folks. You only get to hear about the occasional death because the media wants you to. If it bleeds it leads, as it were.

I think that the swine flu is borne up on MSM shoulders as the latest dread that can befall us if we don't follow their advice. That said, the media scares me more than any sickness because people in this country are such pathetic sheep, the media can mold them into anything....like believing that Obama is Christ-like and can save humanity. There are some pathetically stupid SOB's running this country, put there by even more deficient voters.

(Man did I hit a detour with that or what)??

I've never taken flu shots and have done just fine. I agree with Animal. Most of us don't need them. There are harmful substances in the regular flu shot and the new swine flu vaccine. The media loves to whip the masses into hysteria over anything, partially because they want us to do their (and their socialist friends) bidding. Quite a few people who take the normal flu shot get sick from the shot. Knowing this, I'll take my chances with my God given immune system.

both of my kids have had the flu already this fall, and they're doing fine without a shot.

I got a flu shot a couple of years ago and got sick for a couple of days with flue symptoms. Not sure if I am the best example because I have gotten really sick from a numbers of different vaccinations over the years as I recently posted about a couple of months ago. Not even a Tetanus shot is safe because I am still dealing some minor neck and shoulder pain from a tetanus shot that was about 8 months ago.

in the best case scenario a flu shot is a crap shoot that you get immunized against the one (of dozens that are possible) strain that you come into contact with and you are resistant. of course, the best case scenario is highly unlikely.

in the worst case scenario you get really sick and die because your immune system is already depleted because of the immunization when you get another strain of the flu. apparently, if a recent report i heard on the radio was correct, approximately 90% of flu-related deaths are due to this second scenario.

that's right, if the report was correct then roughly 90% of the people who die each year from the flu had a flu-shot that year. and that's without any of the other potential side effects or gov't-involved creepy stuff.

sounds like a no-brainer to me.
