Your biggest caste disappointment

who out of all the players cheated out of their careers by caste system do you miss the most?

for me, the biggest disappointment was what happened to Luke Staley, following him through the college and not seeing him taking a snap in NFL... i know that in his case injuries where somewhat of a factor but how about Bills taking a chance on Willis McGahee who was even worse for wear that Staley?
even after Luke got through his injuries Detroit had too many "good", "promising" runningbacks to give him a shot...

another thing was the way in which the only white runningback (in last, what, 10 years?) that was given a chance to carry the ball was treated in last 5 -6 seasons... when called upon he got as close to 1k as anyone could with TB o-line back in 1999 and after that? his production dropped to the point, that with 15 games ahead of us in 06-07 season he still in all probability won't get to 5000 career yards... and the guy in question is... 81 yards away!
we're talking about a guy who could possibly get to 10K rushing yards...
i know that the day Mike Alstott retires will be the day that we see last great white runningback fading into history and following Red Grange, Bronko Nagurski, Larry Csonka, John Riggins...
simply because even though he could've done so much more, his career was still a great source of joy and inspiration for many fans... and this is probably more than what we can say about most of the NFL these days...

Maybe Leonard can be an Alstott. Sadly eventhough he is more athletic I just don't see him being given a chance to carry the load at the NFL level. He doesn't even do it at college. Alstott was a 1k guy in college.....

I'm with you on Luke Staley backrow.I even bought his jersey when he was in college.I still wear it with pride on occasion.I met a few guys who played with him in high school and they even said he was beyond special. One of the kids was black and he said the same thing.Even in his nfl bio,the experts said he has the perfect combo of size, speed and power.Luke could have been a Pro Bowler.

A close 2nd is Mike Hass.I was so excited to see him get to light up the nfl.He may never get to play even one down.I hate the nfl so bad that it is almost impossible to watch anymore.I have said it before and I will say it again.THIS HAS TO STOP!!!

yeah, Alstott was heavily featured in his Boilermaker days... won team's MVP 3 years in a row and finished his college career with over 4700 total yards, 42 total TDs...
Leonard would be a worthy succesor, but which team would give him a chance to get at least 5-10 carries per game?

Tommy Vardell, Travis Jervey, Derek Abney, Brad Muster, there are so many.

In the late 1980s, USC had a receiver named Eric Afholter. He made Rodney Peete look good, with his sure handed catches. I don't know sure certain that he was a caste casualty. He may have gotten injured or failed to advance as a pro for some other reason(s).

Afholter was "Casted" over. Reminds me of the great receivers in the last15 yearsor so just from USC and UCLA who have been screwed over -- Afholter, Scott Miller, Gary Wellman, Sean LaChapelle, Danny Farmer.

The way Farmer was treated hurts me as bad as anyone we've talked about at Caste Football, but there's beenso many Caste System victims. The list is very long and ever growing.

Passing leader, Heisman Trophy Candidate, 2003, Chang's blood is a
cocktail of Hawaiian, Chinese, Puerto Rican, English, Irish and
Spanish. Undrafted? WTF!
