20 is considered average intelligence i dont know if the retests were tampered with , some have drastic changes, i dont see how you go from a 4 to a 23, 10 being literacyEdited by: dwid

I'm curious as to what the sources arefor these. The only possible perfect 50 score previously was by Pat McInally, a Harvard grad, but Lex Hilliard and Wallace Gilberry are listed above as receiving 50s (and after scoring 24 and 17 their other time!).

Some of these second times seem to me like some of these guys were either spoon fed answers or saw the same questions again. One positive note for Woodhead fans his score was high, extremely high for a running back. That could be the difference between him making a roster or a pratice squad and not making one. I recall Chuck Noll loving Rich Erenberg because of his smarts. Erenberg today is real estate developer.Edited by: white is right

"I manually copied most of them from http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/draft/drafttracker

the rest came from a Dan Pompei article in the Chicago Times."

thats what the site said the sources are from, yeah i think the answer's could've been spoonfed second time around, i didnt even notice the perfect scores, i could see it happening if it was the same questions over, i am just judging them all on their first scoresEdited by: dwid

I think you are right, I noticed several jumps that seem more than rationally possible. No way does someone go from single digits and illiterate or teens and less than average intelligence realistically jumping as much as 20-30 points unless there is some less than honest test procedures going on. A few points or maybe even 10 point deviation from someone of average or slightly above average intelligence is believable, but after the Vince Young debacle that embarrassed the caste system with much publicity, I think we will be seeing less emphasis being put on such numbers unless they can skew them in the favor of the afflete. (which seems to be the case in this regard) It is no different than the NCAA establishing ther RPI for college basketball only to then put it under fire in recent years because too many mid-major programs which often have higher percentages of white players have seemingly cracked the system. Or like how the public education system in Illinois cooks the standardized test results to help inner city schools graduate students, or slam those tests as being unfair and dumb down the overall curriculum of everyone else to "even the playing field." Jumping from average to a perfect or barely literate to average? sorry I'm not in the market for a bridge in Brooklyn. Alot of these results scream fraud. Vince Young all but proved his first Wonderlic score of 6 was close to accurate with his chicken scratch letter to his teammates that was read on National television. Don't believe the elevated scores on the second attempt for most of these players. Edited by: Bear Backer
