Something very interesting, 2 are from the state of Minnesota! Either they didn't want to play for "Tubby" or Tubby didn't want them, or BOTH.

Also from the state of Minnesota -- Class of 2007 big man Cole Aldrich, who chose Kansas over Minnesota.

The correct answer, re. Tubby Smith's recruitment or non-recruitment of
these players, is neither, since he was not the coach at MInnesota on
January 8, when one kid committed, or Sept. 15, 2006, when the other
MInnesota kid committed.

Or, when Cole Aldrich committed, either.

Good info.

Did anybody else watch tennis 3 weeks to a month ago on ESPN or ESPN2 and hear the 2 announcers speak of meeting Tubby Smith? One guy said that Tubby was trying to bring kids from Atlanta into the Minnesota program and the other guy said, "that's a smart move!" Another example of media stereotyping.

Some of the best White basketball talent is in Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois and Missouri.

Clem Haskins always had some decent white players. I was always a fan of
Kevin Lynch, who was drafted by the Hornets. But Haskins complained the
best athletes in Minnesota played hockey, not basketball.

I think the best white talent currently is in the Pacific Northwest. There
were two top five players from Oregon alone last year, Kevin Love and
Kyle Singler.

Michigan had a run of really good white players, with Paul Davis, Drew
Neitzel and David Kool all winning Mr. Basketball. It probaby would have
been four in a row if Eric Devendorf hadn't transferred to Oak Hill for his
senior year.

Clint Chapman 6-10 245 from Oregon - Class of 2007

The 3rd ranked player in Oregon, who is behind the 2 guys you mentioned. It looks like he has a good build. The PNW has certainly been solid.

Washington Husky C Spencer Hawes -- who is from the state of Washington -- was drafted high in this recent NBA Draft.

Also, the state of Colorado produced two Whites drafted in that same Draft -- C Jason Smith of the Colorado St. Rams and F Nick Fazekas of the Nevada Wolfpack.

Nevada and Utah have some good White talent as well.
