"Most African-Americans are familiar with the notion that we have to be twice as good just to be considered equal with whites."

Did she get that line from the interracial movie - "Something New?" [IMG]

I guess Aaron Curry (lottery pick) is "twice as good" as Laurinaitis, POZ and Ruud (2nd Rounders in various drafts)...

I guess most black DTs are "twice as good" as Kyle Williams. Travis Hall - 6th Rounder - can also be mentioned.

I guess all those black RBs taken ahead of Peyton Hillis are "twice as good."

Vince Young (lottery pick) must be "twice as good" as Tebow and McCoy (you know, those guys that just CAN'T play QB in the NFL for some reason..) [IMG]

JaMarcus Russell must be....... I'll stop now!! [IMG]

With all the hysteria of benching any Black qb why would any gm want to draft any high pick Black qb? Especially in a city with a significant Black population. It seems that meddling owners seem to be responsible for long stretches of mediocre quarterbacks being given extended apprenticeships as starters in the NFL.

I'm sure they'd rather have Peyton Manning and Drew Brees as well.

The article you're referring to was indeed written by Jemele Hill. She was complaining about how white South African communities are "always fenced in"Â to "isolate"Â themselves from "oppressed"Â black communities.

Yeah, the nerve of those people. Imagine that"¦attempting to avoid being robbed, raped, tortured, and killed by your black "countrymen."Â

Don't you fret, Jemele, blacks are systematically executing whites at an alarming rate in Rainbow World. Oh, and since blacks are the most "creative"Â race, no two whites will be tortured in the same way before being barbarically slaughtered. Oh, and don't worry, the gruesomeness that lies "beyond the fenced-in areas"Â is something that is funded, protected, and encouraged throughout the globe.

Perhaps if Hill lingered in South Africa long enough she'd be more understanding. Yes, I think a traditional African "clitorectomy"Â or "corrective rape"Â might amend the opinion of this rich affirmative action bull dyke.

The classic line that: "Black need to twice as good as whites"Â is the literal polar opposite of the truth. Fitting that something so dim-witted and childishly delusion would be written by a white-educated, "scholarly"Â black.Edited by: Thrashen

She is complaining that black QBs receive more criticism than white QBs? Is she referring to the criticism the head of the NAACP Philly chapter laid on Donovan McNabb?

Oh yeah - and black QBs have to be twice as good as white QBs even to be considered? Yeah - thats what I think of when I think of black QBs - twice as good as Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Phillip Rivers and Drew Brees. Yeppers. And QB ratings are a big, pardon the pun, over rated IMO. Vince Young might have a high QB rating but when was the last time that team was down and he was able to bring them back in the final 2 minutes to score for the win?

Just saw this article and had to post after going back to wonderful lurking status since the draft. It's quite hilarious how the points brought up are exactly the ones that are quashed on this site regularly. It even goes so far as to correct itself!<div>
</div><div>"During his time in Tennessee, Young certainly has shown some immaturity. He sulks. He refused to re-enter a game because the fans were booing him. He got into an altercation in a strip club this past summer, reportedly because a man insulted his school, the University of Texas. His behavior, at times, has been inexcusable, and it has undermined his incredible talent."Anyone heard anything like this from Tom Brady....Payton Manning......heck how about Brady Quinn? But it's ok because:"...is it possible that some of Young's actions are a result of Fisher's lack of confidence"Yep it's the head coaches fault. That's what it is....Jeff Fisher got drunk in a strip club and punched a guy. Wonder if she'd say it was Mike Tomlin that should've been accused of sexual assault? I mean that seems to be the logic, because there's certainly nothing else to suggest Fisher has anything to do with Young. Not even a justification in the article. It's insane, plain and simple. Just an easy way to get people talking and starting debates between DWF's and black people who still feel wronged because of the slave trade. At least some people have seen sense:http://bleacherreport.com/articles/528007-jemele-hills-racist-nfl-qb-article-highlights-racist-blacks-in-america

I was trying to find an appropriate thread to post this under without starting a new one. Hope it hasn't been posted already. What an absolute joke! From ESPN no less! Part of their free preview of "ESPN INSIDER."

Black QBs are underrated and underpaid

Is the NFL's quarterback rating system racist?

That's a trick question. The league doesn't have a quarterback rating system; it has a passer rating system, which takes completions, passing yards, touchdown passes and interceptions, weighs them roughly equally by attempt and smooshes them into one number. Problem is, for many fans, GMs and sportswriters, this distinction is lost, and passer rating simply represents overall QB value. But notice what's left out of the formula: rushing yards and rushing TDs, two key stats that happen to be disproportionately amassed by black QBs.

    <OFFER>

Since 2005, just five starting signal-callers have had seasons of 100 or more snaps in which they ran the ball on more than 15 percent of their plays: Vince Young (four times), Michael Vick (three), David Garrard (two), Jason Campbell and Tarvaris Jackson. All are African-American. Of the top 10 seasons in yards per carry by starting QBs over that span, seven are by black QBs, topped by Vick's amazing 8.4 YPC in 2006. To be clear, these numbers don't mean that all black QBs rush for more yards than all white QBs or that black players have more speed than white players. But they do indicate that running tends to be a far more important part of overall play for QBs who are African-American than for those who aren't.

Why? Nobody knows for sure, but I have a theory. Suppose that, whether because of old stereotypes, old habits or some unarticulated mix of the two, it's hard for many coaches and recruiters to envision a black quarterback leading their team. Now suppose those men will yield if their job or a potential title is at stake. Under those circumstances, if you're a black athlete, you can win a high school or college QB job if -- but likely only if -- you demonstrate such overwhelming superiority that the head coach has no choice but to put you in charge of the huddle. If you're Vick at Virginia Tech, and you have a passer rating of 180.4 (a national freshman record), you'll get to throw. If you're not, say hello to playing wideout, safety or the Wildcat. To develop at QB, African-Americans have always had to be dominant athletes, not just skilled passers, which means the best ones then carry an extra dimension of speed to the NFL.

Again, that's just a theory, but it's supported by plenty of evidence. No pro team started an African-American under center until 1968, when Marlin Briscoe led the Broncos. Just eight black QBs got significant playing time in the NFL before the mid-1990s. And from 2000 to 2006, while 65 percent of the league's players were black, just 27 percent of the QBs were, according to research released last year by economists David Berri and Rob Simmons. Yet when black QBs have gotten the chance to play, they have performed nearly identically to white ones in most stat categories from 1994 to 2006. The one gap: Black QBs rushed for an average of 20.1 yards per game over that span, while white QBs ran for just 7.0.

This is where the widespread reliance on passer rating really rears its ugly head. Because in comparing QB pay to performance, and factoring in a slew of variables such as player experience and market size, Berri and Simmons found that quarterbacks don't earn any extra money by running for more yards. And guess who this disproportionately shortchanges? On average, black QBs gain 4.6 percent more total yards per game than white QBs (196.6 versus 188), but white QBs earn 3.1 percent more than black QBs.

The solution here is obvious: Replace passer rating with something better. So, consider this a call to the analytics community to get on the case. And we'd better make some progress soon. Because after this season, Vick will be a free agent.

White quarterbacks make 3.1 percent more than black quarterbacks. Can people really be this stupid to write something like that?

I see that the writer is Peter Keating. It must be sad to be a pathetic little man who worships blacks.

Peter(eater) Keating sounds like a self-loathing, limp wristed, afrolete worshipping hack. "Quotabacks" are rare simply because they lack the mental prowess to master the playbook, read defenses & execute consistently within the pocket...end of story.

White receivers with similar statistics to black receivers also make less. Maybe we should let this buffoon know that.

One of the most absurd propaganda messages is that White QBs are "too serious/mechanical" -- while blacks can "freestyle" their way to success, even in the NFL.

That's inaccurate in so many ways.. The NFL ain't college or high school. "Stiff" White QBs role out of the pocket and make plays downfield all the time.

It's the same propaganda in basketball.. Whites are "too mechanical".. Somehow, I'm very confident that their could be "White versions" of these black ball-hogs, but it's simply "not allowed." The bruthas "need" their shots...

Sacramento got rid of their "Whiteys" and drafted DeMarcus Cousins, but, after losing today, they have a 5-16 record! [IMG]

This thread was as good as any to post this listof QB prospects for next year's NFL draft. I actually found most of it to be quite fair, especially the analysis of sCam Newton and Ryan Mallett.

The only one that I found to be questionable was the Christian Ponder piece. I think that he can develop quite nicely if given the right coaching and receivers that can catch. He is being relegated to "backup QB" status. As far as stud white QB's go, sure, he's not anywhere near, say, Andrew Luck, but if a BLACK prospect came out with his playing style and resume, he would be declared the next Warren Moon. Another illustration as to why nearly all QB's are white.

.... Oh, I don't agree with the analyst's contention that sCam Newton's run skill "dwarf" Tim Tebow's, but the accuracy, character, and work ethic parts are right on target.

When NFL teams start running the option then this article could pick up a shred of merit. Until then QBs are going to be judged primarily on their passing ability and decision making as the NFL is increasingly becoming a passing league. And Deadlift is correct about the white QBs currently in the NFL. The slower Drew Bledsoe types are gone and now the 6'5" 240 lb QBs move like Roethlisberger. Aaron Rodgers has 300+ rushing yards the past two seasons. Even 38 year old Jon Kitna is averaging 5.0 ypc this year. Most of the rest, except Carson Palmer, can move well enough to avoid pass rushers which is what the QB ought to do anyway.

Furthermore, the supposed undervaluing of rushing ability cannot be a racial issue when it was the reason that Eric Crouch and Matt Jones were never considered as NFL QB material and not very many people think Tim Tebow will ever be any good. Undervaluing QB rushing ability wasn't a problem last year when Tebow came out of college with all the draft experts predicting him in the 2nd round or as a complete bust, but yeah lets have the 'NFL is racist against black QBs' nonsense dragged out just in time for Cam Newton (and probably again for Terrell Pryor).

I consider him a sCam, but the "dynamic" (of the SEC) is not of his making..

Chris White may be the only starting White linebacker that he faced in SEC play... That was a low-scoring, 17-14 game, and White had 11 tackles. LSUs "D" was ATROCIOUS against Auburn, and even though linebacker Kelvin Sheppard has a little over 100 tackles this season, I doubt he'll be anything special in the NFL.

South Carolina's "linebackers?" I can't even rememember those NO-NAMES, and I don't want to!! Just so many clueless linebackers in the SEC.

Tim Tebow schooled the hostile SEC affletes -- which is still the greatest triumph in recent memory. At the end of the day, Newton never schooled OUR athletes, and, in the NFL, OUR athletes should do just fine against him.

Here is something some on the site may find interesting. I was looking at the 2001 NFL draft on Sports Illustrated and there was a link to the 2003 depth charts. That year there were eight starting black qb's. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/depth/

Why are Nearly All QBs White? Just look at today.. A TON of highlight-reel throws by White QBs!!

And, how about Tebow defeating the Texans' and throwing for over 300 yards?! I'm loving it!

That's actually a good depth chart to look at for White HBs/WRs. It's good for comparing and contrasting,to see ifwe've made any progress. By my quick math, there were zero White HBs in 2003 and4 1/2(Hillis, Woodhead, Gerhart, Leonard, Kuhn as a hybrid) in 2010 (about 5%). 9 White WRs were listed as a either a 1,2, or 3 on 32 teams' depth charts (about 10%). Don't know how many number 1-3s we have right now at WR, though. It's really sad to say, but I never envisioned the NFL allowing the halfback position to be 5% White! When 2/3rds of the pop. makes up only 5% of an NFL position, and that's considered progress, we've really got a LONG way to go!

Yeah whites are more like 70-75% of the populous in the U.S if you consider that lots of the "Hispanics" are 3/4 or 7/8ths white or more with the other part usually being mostly Amero-Indian ancestry so they aren't beneficiaries of the caste system. Some "Hispanics" are 100% Spaniard. CIA.gov says the U.S is 80% white, but I don't think they are counting many of the illegals or Mestizos who are more like only half or 5/8ths white as non-white or multi-racial. Some "Hispanics" have African ancestry too.

Tebow looked good again and got a win in his second start. He certainly doesn't look like the "project" the media has made him out to be. Although the Denver o-line probably pass blocks a little better than the Vikings o-line, I highly doubt that Joe Webb will show the consistency and ability that Tebow showed in his second start. Tebow is further along and calling Webb a possible "black Tim Tebow" could very well end up being very inaccurate on my part, we should get a clear picture of how they progress by the end of next season!Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

Gentlemen: Get ye a copy of the July 2011 American Renaissance magazine. In it you will find, on Page 9, a three-page article by Michael M. Hart entitled, "Quarterbacks, Intelligence, and Race." The theme of the article is "IQ matters in football, too," and a wonderful statistical IQ study of the current class of NFL quarterbacks is presented. A table containing QB Name, Race, Lifetime QB Rating, and "Wonderlic" IQ score is presented. The results? The only surprise is that one White QB (Roethlisberger) has a Wonderlic IQ equal to the highest of the seven black QB scores (Leftwich). Eleven White QBs are part of the statistical sample. All ten of the remaining White QBs have higher IQs -- and QB ratings -- than all seven of the Black QB.

Well, I've spoiled the article enough already. READ! (Then also read the lead article called "Therapeutic Incarceration" where a White prison guard in the Peoples Republic of Maryland described conditions and dunderhead left-wing "policies" in a major MD prison.)

When it comes to intelligence and arm strength, many on here acknowledge inborn differences between the races.

But when it comes to speed and quickness, they don't acknowledge any inborn differences. On that topic, the differences are entirely attributed to the reverse discrimination of the system (which is very real).

If whites are way smarter (compare the achievements of Europe to Africa--obvious), then how come blacks can't be a little faster?

I mean, we got the long end of stick. An IQ is going to do more for you in life than a quick 40 yard dash time.
