Below is the state of college football for 2017 as of opening weekend. Out of 131 teams (123 previewed thus far - will update as the remaining teams completed) there are roughly 808 white starters or about 6.2 per squad. Only 7.7% of the teams this year have 11 or more starters, a far cry from the 30% or so teams that had this distinction about a decade ago. For the first time in CF history it appears that Iowa takes the crown for the whitest team this year, expected to start about 16 white athletes.

Let me know if I missed anything or there are any new developments on any of the teams. Just did this while watching the UCLA. Texas AM game!

White athletes per team per conference looks like this

Independent 10.3
Big 10 9.1
MAC 8.8
Pac 12 7.3
MW 7.1
Big 12 6.7
ACC 5.9
CUSA 5.7
AAC 5.5
Sun Belt 5.2
SEC 4.4

Thanks for this Claimjumper.

There are a few teams that have changed but this wasn't reflected in their write up.

Florida has 2 white starters.
Fresno State has 7 white starters.
Michigan State has 13 white starters.

It would be great if these could be edited into their original posts so in following years the trends could be perfectly accurate but I understand if this does not happen.
