You are very welcome Bronk. I hope Tylerheals up soon from whatever is wrong with him. I couldn't find out anything about his injury on the NDSU website, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. I did see where Northern Iowa QB Pat Grace hurt his leg and had to leave the game. Pat is a strong runner and really impressed me when they played BYU earlier this year. I hope he can return quickly as well.

Colonel,

while i'm checking box scores for the small school wideouts' stats, i still occasionally run across more white running backs. and i've got another one for you!
smiley1.gif

Mike Kielt, a senior tailback at Holy Cross, scored a career-best four touchdowns and totaled nearly 200 yards in total offense, to lead Holy Cross to a 44-26 win over Dartmouth at Memorial Field on Saturday.

Kielt carried 18 times for 120 yards and three scores, and caught five passes for 75 yards and another score. he is the first Crusader to rush for at least three touchdowns in a game since Steve Silva, another white tailback, ran for four against Bucknell in 2005.

MikeKielt.jpg

Mike Kielt has been named the ECAC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Saturday's 44-26 victory over Dartmouth. congratulations, Mike!

Thanks for the extra info on Mike, Jimmy. You may notice that I have been including him in the stats the last couple of weeks. He is a great player, and like so many of these young men, they just need a fairopportunity to shine. The success of white players in the FCS, and in DII, DIII, and the NAIA programsillustrates this because they aren't quite as barred from certain positions as their FBS counterparts. Lets hope more eyes get opened by their great performances!

Army's Colin Mooney has run for over 170 yards in each of his last three games. in that span, he's averaged 196 yards-per-game on 9.2 yards-per-carry.

that three-game stretch has gone virtually un-noticed by the national media, but it deserves a lot of mention. only the Colonel has said much about it.

when i did a Google news search, the only thing i found that resembled a feature-article on him was the following short blurb on his performance.
smiley5.gif

Before the season, Army fullback Collin Mooney was an unknown commodity, but he's made a name for himself this fall.

Mooney has 817 rushing yards this season. Hitting 1,000 yards is in Mooney's reach and he could break Army's single-season rushing record, which has stood for almost two decades. That was set by Mike Mayweather (1,338) in 1990.

Mooney, a senior, is averaging 116.7 yards per game this season. The Black Knights (2-5) have five games remaining in the season. If Mooney averages 116.7 yards over the next five games, that would give him 1,402 on the year.

Mooney still has a long way to go, but it appears that he will be Army's first 1,000-yard rusher since Carlton Jones in 2005.

Stats complete for this week. We didn't have any white FBS RBs break 100 this week, although Toby Gerhart didn't have a game this week. We did have 6 white backs in the FCS break 100 yards though! Tyler Roehl had 229, Nate Eachus had 214, David Sinisi had 194, Kyle Minett had 145, David McCarty had 122, and Mike Kielt had 105. Congrats to these awesome athletes!

Monmouth's David Sinisi has been named to the Walter Payton Award list.
smiley32.gif

some excerpts:

"Dave Sinisi is possibly the most complete football player that I have seen in my more than 30 years of college coaching," said head coach Kevin Callahan. "Dave's individual performances over the last three seasons have contributed to our team's success more than any other factor."

**************************

Last season he set the FCS record for consecutive games with a touchdown, scoring in his first 20 games for the Blue & White. Sinisi has started every game for the Hawks since his redshirt freshman year, scoring in 27 out of the 29 contests. In just two-plus years, he owns every career rushing record at Monmouth, including rushing touchdowns, rushing yards, 100-yard rushing performances, and surpassed current Dallas Cowboy Miles Austin for the top spot in scoring at Monmouth.

also, with his 4 rushing touchdowns this past weekend, Sinisi has now tied former Wagner running back Rick Sarille for the NEC all-time scoring record with 300 career points.

I enjoyed watching John Goebel run the ball for Cincinnati last night. I thought he showed a good combination of speed and power and made nice cuts.

Good game by Goebel. He is better than Ramsey however ,his coach always seems to play Ramsey more go figure. I went to bed before Goebel had his great 4th quarter figuring that Ramsey would continue to get more carries because of his skin color. That should teach me to beleive coaches really will play the best player at certain positions regardless of race lol. Goebel is a very good running back and he is only a sophmore who should get better.

Goebel is like several other white RBs I've seen this year and last. He needs to get around 15 carries a game before he really starts to shine. John had a couple of really nice runs late in the game, and he scored a rushing TD early on as well. Hopefully his performance last night willconvince the coaches to give himmore playing time and carries.

Programming note-Tonight on ESPN2 a 7PM Central time, Wofford plays at Appalachian State. This will be a big game for both teams, but Wofford has a trio of white runners that you won't want to miss! Dane Romero is the main RB,but RB Eric Breitenstein gets several carries a game, and QB Ben Widymer is also very good with his feet. If you are like me and don't have ESPN2, you can watch it for free on ESPN 360.com.

Jake should be getting more carries in the 4th. I would leave him in there so he can break 200.
