I've posted on this site before about what a phenomenon Stefan Holm is. He has broke the world High jump record during his career and is still the reigning Olympic champion, and he measures just 5' 11" tall. Someone called Mike Furry "diminutive" on another thread this week - and he is 6 foot tall. Yet this guy can out leap rivals who measure up at around 6'6".

Well there is another even shorter world record holder and Olympic Champion. His name is Harold Osborn and he is from the USA and was just 5' 10 ½" tall.
He won Olympic gold in 1924.

Here he is...

Sotomayor set the record in 1993, when who knows what went into his body to perform at that level. I go back again to the fact that Stefan Holm is only 1.81M tall, whereas Sotomajor was 1.94M tall. This to my mind makes Holm the most amazing athlete competing ta the moment.
Holm along with fellow Swede Sjoberg and Russian Voronin are the only people to clear 2.40 or better this century.

I know I go on about this man too much, so all I'm going to say is Steffan Holm, indoor world champion (again) with a jump of 2.36m.
