a little bit later in the ncaa basketball season i wonder if anybody has or would compile any data to the amount of white starters of college basketball teams.

this was the link to the whitest college football teams for 2017, now i'm just trying to find the basketball counter part.

so far the most whiteist starter teams in my mind are wisconsin, butler, michigan, and duke to some extent, but i'm looking for actual numbers.

It's a bit harder to do that with college basketball. First and foremost, there's a LOT more division one teams to keep track of. Most of the info on teams and players to root for is located in the "2017-2018 College Basketball Season" thread, since it would be impractical and too time consuming to preview each individual team. Second, there's just not that much interest in college hoops during the regular season from posters this year; a lot of times, it's just me and 1-2 others posting in the thread. It's hard for basically just me at times (and I've been busy on top of that) to keep track of 351, or however many division 1 teams there are, by myself. Regardless, I'll give you the run-down on major college teams to root for.

Being as there aren't as many 4-5 white starter teams in college this year (with more and more schools recruiting that token whitey for their team, white players are more spread out then they've ever been), my criteria for a white-friendly team that should be rooted for at all costs is: at least 4 white players getting a LOT of time (15+ minutes per game). For instance, two of our best teams this year, Marquette and Virginia, fit this mold. Each has three white starters, and a white who plays off the bench. Beyond that, it's variable, depending on team roles, allocation of minutes, etc.

Butler is decidedly not as white-friendly as they have been, but they still give 3 white players a lot of minutes, so I consider them on the next tier down, still white-friendly (relative to all of those all-black teams out there), but shouldn't be rooted for if they are playing a team like Marquette. After that, it all depends on the role of the white players. UNC is a fun team for me to watch this year, despite playing only two white guys. Why? Because Luke Maye is amazing, and is leading the team. Same with Florida and Egor Koulechov.

    1. Major White-friendly teams this year: Iowa (down), Wisconsin (down), Virginia, Notre Dame, St. Mary's, Purdue, Utah, Oregon State (down), Boise State, BYU, Davidson, Marquette, and Creighton.
    2. Tier 2 teams: Butler, Michigan, UCLA, Arizona State, Wichita State, Gonzaga, NC State, Oklahoma State, Kansas, and Duke (sometimes).

I've probably missed a couple, but after these major teams, it's rooting for individual white players for the most part. Of course, there are roughly 20-30 (give or take a few) mid-majors that would be in these two categories, and I and a couple of other posters have mentioned a few of them (like Belmont, Vermont, Bucknell, South Dakota St., and South Dakota) in the season thread. There's undoubtedly a lot of mid to low-majors I've missed that probably start 1-3 white players or have a few in their rotation.

Hope this helps!! Welcome to the boards!

#16 St. Mary's is about to beat BYU on ESPN2. St. Mary's has had 5 whites on the floor for most of the game.

i also noticed that notre dame also uses a lot of 4 white starters. sometimes 3. but consistently they do 4. i hope they'll make it to march madness this year.
