It was a lousy week. Konrad and Forsey, 10 yards combined! What a waste of two running talents. With all Miami's problems on offense, they still won't utilize Konrad even as a receiver. Forsey got most of his carries inside the Buffalo 10, not exactly the best place on the field to come in. After he failed to do much he wasn't used again.

Chris Horn of the Chiefs went back to the bench with Eddie Kennison returning from injury.

Eric Johnson cooled off with 4/24, but he is playing with injured ribs. A lot of guys wouldn't even take the field with that kind of injury. Drew Bennett is also playing with broken ribs but remains productive, getting his first TD of the season after throwing one last week.

Eddie Berlin continues to do well now that he is finally getting to play as a wideout. His stats were comparable to those of Bennett and Derrick Mason in what was a bad outing for McNair.

A couple tight ends are seeing more action. Jeb Putzier is the Broncos receiving tight end. He had 3/52 and a touchdown. Aaron Shea of the Browns went 3/25 and scored his second TD of the year. It's another down year in general for tight ends. Eric Johnson, Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, Jeremy Shockey and Todd Heap when he is healthy are the main receiving TEs.

Cincinnati's Kevin Kaesviharn, who did a fine job starting at CB for the Bengals a couple of years ago when he was brought in due to injuries and for his efforts was converted into a backup safety, recovered a fumble for a touchdown against Cleveland.

Patrick Kearney of Atlanta was the NFL sack leader going into Week 6, with 7.

I hope that the Titans can turn it around and also the
Dolphins.Right now, I would say that the two teams I enjoy watching the most are the Colts and the Rams. Both
teams are very explosive on offense and have good defenses to match.I am excited to see Kevin Curtis being
used more this year in St.Louis.They also have Dane Looker.Did you guys see that fumble return by Adam
Archeletta. This kid went to ASU and was a terror in the
Pac Ten a few years ago.He can flat out fly!The Colts
have my favorite receiver in Stokely. He has the speed
to get open deep and great hands.Dallas Clark is also
coming along at the Tight End Position.Peyton Manning
is probably the best q.b. in the NFL right now.The only
thing missing is the rings. If the Patriots are beat,I
would want to see the Colts go to the Super Bowl.

I like watching the Colts a lot too. Dallas Clark only has two catches all season, but the main reason for that is that he is being used to block a lot more, which is a major reason why Stokley has been open so much. Clark has great receiving and running ability, but if that's the tradeoff for now for Stokley becoming nationally recognized, it's not a bad one.

I'm a little worried that the Rams are working in Shaun McDonald to be their third receiver. Looker's playing time has seriously decreased, and Furrey has been almost invisible. It looks to be a battle between McDonald and Kevin Curtis to be the team's third receiver, and the eventual successor to Isaac Bruce.

One of the few bright spots so far this season is that Eddie Berlin is becoming established as the Titans' third receiver, which means he'll be on the field for most of their offensive plays. The media is always the last to acknowledge that a white player at a segregated position has ability. Oneknow-nothingwagsaid this week that Berlin "isn't big enough to be a red zone threat." He's 5-11 and 195 with a lot of speed. He's an average-sized NFL receiver, hardly a smurf. In fact he's bigger than Derrick Mason. But they always have tocome up withsomething negative even if it's patently absurd.
