It's good that Vitali's fighting a third time this year.

Wlad won't be in action until as late as March 2010, but this makes up for it.

Another magical affelet to be smacked around for a good 7 rounds, before Vitali lowers the hammer on his affelic skull. Considering how white athelets are screwed in the NFL, boxing in the last 5 years has keep me quite sane!!!

This guy Kevin Johnson has no power. He has a knockout percentage in the 30's. It is getting embarrasing the types of affletes they are putting in the ring with Vitali lately.

I'm actually really excited about this fight even though Johnson is a nobody.
Vitali is one of the few boxers that I never get nervous about no matter who he is fighting.
Everyone points out how Wladimir is more fluid and everything but Vitali can eat a flush punch from any heavyweight and he is rather fast himself.

The only knock against him now is his age. Hopefully he can get 1 more quality year though.

The only time I've ever seen him really stunned by a punch was vs Corrie Sanders and that could have definitely been ruled a knockdown, although he was pushed down a little.

After this fight he needs to fight Chambers since I don't think David Haye will ever fight him.
It would be great for him to end his career by wiping the floor with Haye though...

Wladimir will be fighting Chambers some time next year. I am not worried about Vitali against this nobody at all. I said that last night about Kessler but this time I will not be wrong.

WA 33 every fighter has off nights. Kessler had one last night. Maybe his mind set was not right, maybe he was over confident. Who knows. I do know one thing. King Aurther will be the King of the Super Six tornament when its over.

White Athlete:

I haven't checked any futurematch-ups in a little while now. Is the Chambers - Vladimir fight official? The last I read was that Vladimir had shoulder surgeryor something and was supposed to fight early next year.

Westside:

While I do like King Arthur and he may very well win the tournament, I really Hope that Froch wins the tournament after witnessing that garbage last night.

Plus you really have to respect a guy who can get up and fightafter going home to that girlfriend of his.

Wladimir is supposed to fight Eddie Chambers. Chambers beat Alexander Dimitrenko and that was an eliminator to fight Wlad. I don't know when it will be taking place but probably sometime in early 2010.

Ok.
Yeah, I actually saw some hightlights of that fight but didn't remember it being an eliminator. Thanks for the reminder.

Klitschko-Johnson Officials

The WBC has named the officials for the Vitali Klitschko vs. Kevin Johnson heavyweight championship fight on December 12 in Berne, Switzerland. The referee will be Kenny Bayless (USA). Judges are Omar Mintun (Mexico), Guido Cavalleri (Italy) and Fabian Kaj Guggenheim (Switzerland)

WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (38-2-0, 37 KOs ) will defend his title against challenger Kevin Johnson (22-0-1, 9 KOs) at PostFinance-Arena. This will be Klitschko's third defense of his WBC title this year. In March, he beat #1 rated Juan Carlos Gomez in Stuttgart, Germany, by TKO 9 and then he dominated #1 ranked Cristobal Arreola in September winning by TKO in the 10th round in Los Angeles. The fight will be broadcast in over 100 countries including RTL in Germany and HBO in the US.

Just take a look at the fighters Johnson has faced so far in his career. Bruce Seldon is his best win and he's not much of a fighter anyways.

He really isn't more than a club fighter. There were better guys for Vitali to fight. I think Johnson was chosen because Vitali didn't have much time to train after the fight in September.

Kevin Johnson sure does look puny next to the champ, Vitali Klitschko.
Yes and fat too. If your the smaller guy you would think you would have to be the leaner and fitter guy. I guess ribs and grape soda are too important to pass up for a title shot.

Wladimir Klitschko vs. Eddie Chambers is not yet official, but it's tentatively scheduled for March 20 in Germany.

Kevin Johnson has some decent boxing skills, this won't be a cakewalk. He was chosen because he was the highest-rated opponent available (Ring #10, WBC #6), undefeated and relatively young. He's obviously a better choice than old, shot fighters like Maskaev and Toney.

Remember, Vitali doesn't want to do business with Don King unless necessary, so that excludes Austin and other King heavyweights. Eddie Chambers is lined up to fight Wlad, so not available. And Vitali knows he would receive more respect for defeating an African-American boxer than a better European fighter like Denis Boytsov.

Johnson was the logical choice.

If Vitali were to somehow lose to this short sumo, it would be disastrous. Those pictures made me LOL!!!

I was talking to a guy at the bar the other day about the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight. He told me that he really only pays attention to the heavyweights, so I said "you must really like the Klitschko's huh?" he goes "who?", he hadn't heard of them.

I didn't even bother. Like so many americans his boxing knowledge of the heavyweights ended after the last George Foreman fight but he still thinks he's 'up' on the sport. Pathetic.
