Vitali Klitschko vs. Cristobal Arreola

This fight reminds me of the fight between Alexis Arguello v Ray Mancini. Alexis schooled then toyed with Ray and then got the TKO. Chris does have an "upside" he time is about two years off. He needs to come into fights around 240 lbs. But even if he did tonight the same thing would have happeaned. Vitali is the master and Chris is the student. His corner actually did the smart thing and prevented Chris from being the KO'd. They saw that coming.
Its something how Vitali sooner or later makes his opponents submit and in this case made Chris's corner submit. Truely a remarkable fighter at 38 years old. Can u imagine the slaughter if they matched a 37 year old Ali vs the Vitali we saw tonight, no f..king contest.

I can't tell you all how good I freakin' feel when one of our brothers wins a big one like this and don't kid yourself this was big because if Arreola had pulled the upset the media would be all over this going on endlessly about the first Hispanic heavyweight champ and injecting some life into the division and blah,blah and blah.It didn't happen because at this stage of the game the Klit's are unbeatable.It's Abba and Piwo time.Na Zdrowie!

Cristobal beats MANY of the heavyweights in any era tonight with the determination and refusal to lose that he displayed tonight. Cristobal was a man possessed. This was his night. MAN!! Arreola ate some f*ckin teeth shattering bombs by Vitali. When they slowed the punches up you could see the brutality of some of the shots Arreola took. (and he took many) Vitali landed some truly savage punches on him. That being said, it was to Arreola's misfortune that he needed to get by one of the greatest fighters EVER to lace up a pair of boxing gloves. Vitali looked like he was 27 years old in there the way he was moving. Viltali looked FASTER than he has been in years. What a great champion, what a great man, and most importantly, what a great role model for white youth world wide wherever they may dwell. From South Africa to Argentinia, from the eastern most province of Russia, the the western most county of Alaska.

Seriously that fight was similar to Rocky without the fairy tale ending. This was about as dominant as Vitali has ever looked. Also Cris was there to win, not rollover and collect a cheque, like other opponents.

I got just a tad nervous around the sixth when Vitali took a breather and Arreola got to him little bit, but along with everything else he has a great chin.
Credit to Arreola for making Vitali work for it. I was going to predict gone in three but I wasn't sure about Arreola's chin. He's got a good one.
He's an inspiration for all the other up and coming heavies, showing how hard work and dedication can pay off with a good beating from a Klitchko brother.

Been reading the MSM sports pages on the internet. All have been giving deserving lavish praise for Vitali and his brother. Finally, their reigns and skills can not be overlooked or disparged any longer. This new black hope "Kevin Johnson" is going to suffer a similar fate as Chris, I can't wait for that one. Another affelet being smacked around for 8 rounds then either KO'd or the corner stopping the fight. Gents, great time to be a white boxing fan. Hey Don have you been reading the sports writers assessment of Vitali's performance? I think finally some are reconsidering their flawed caste views, at least the ones I have read.

No I didn't Westside, but I was impressed with HBO's coverage, particularly Jim Lampley. He seems to be neutral. He seemed to go out of his way to give the Klitschkos some respect during and after the fight.

Yeah, it was indeed a great night. I am going on 4 miler right now(running) 11 15 pm my time. I am getting old, but the aches and pains I feel usually will mean nothing. Then I will down at least 8 beers, your six sense in on full display again, according the icon you just posted. LOL

True champions make even the best fighters look ordinary. Vitali and Wladimir are two of the best boxers in the history of boxing period. The boxers they face have alot of talent but do not even come close to the Klitschko brothers level. They have dominated boxing like no one ever has. The hate and jealousy is at an all time high level. I hear daily how much they suck. The constant excuses that it is only because most blacks are in other sports. What a crock of sh**! We all know the truth. They are the best. Always have been and will continue to be. Long Live both King Klitschko brothers. The best that ever lived of any era!
Just finished watching my replay of the fight. 4 things to consider. 1st, Chris applied unbelievable pressure on Vitali. 2nd, when they cliched, Chris got full leverage in attaching Vitali's rib cage. 3rd, Vitali showed incredible movement in avoiving Chris's assualts and drilled him with powerful shots. Someone here mentioned that one doesn't get the full effect watching real speed. But put in slow motion and you see the devastation, wow! 4th, Chris looked very fast for a heavy weight in the beginning. Vitali showed unreal ring generalship in avoiding chris's punches. Man, what a incredible performance in Vitali. Although it may sound premature, I would rank Chris as the number 4 heavyweight behind Vitali, Wlad, Potivikin.
The affelets who challenge the Klitsiskos or the other two are going to get their repective asses handed to them. Man, I am loving it!

amazing,incredible, fantastic!!!!!!!!! vitali is 38, and came back after 4 years and beats the champion, and 2 of the number 1 contenders, and he wins almost every round,has there ever been such a dominating fighter? I cannot think of one, thankyou vitali
anyone catch what Emmanuel Steward said at the end of the fight? He said that Vitali and Wladimir used to spar with each other and that things got so intense that they had to quit sparring, and if the 2 ever fought each other that it would be one of the great fights in Heavyweight history because both guys are so intense and intent on winning especially when they compete against each other, that it would be a great fight.

It was great to see Arreola actually put up and fight, unlike Sam Peter and JC Gomez. Cristobal is a good fighter, with alot of heart and a great chin. I like his aggressive style. The media was correct, he is currently the best American HW.
It takes alot of courage to eat shots from Dr. Eisenfaust for 10 rounds....the Klitschko's are truely superhumans. Another awesome victory for the man from Kiev!

Arreola quit by the 8th round. He resembeled a walking dead zombie. I did not see him throw a significant punch from that round on. He simply followed the champ around the ring while receiving jabs, hooks and right crosses to the face, with body shots tossed in. Vitali displayed movement, range and generalship. For what it's worth, Christobol will never be the fighter that entered the ring last night. Those shots he took will have changed him forever, similar to how a series of head on accidents change a person intellectually.

I am sure one thing still haunts Vitali though. The loss to Lewis is probably still on his mind. I wish Lewis would have gave him a rematch because Vitali was winning that fight.

Buffer announces that Arreoloa is proud to fight for his Mexican-American heritage. What about just fighting for the USA? They do not announce Vitali is fighting on behalf of his Ukrainian heritage or the Ukraine?
The coverage was better than usual, but there was enough of the 'Arreola could wear Vitali down in the later rounds..' stuff to keep it 'balanced.' At one point they even said that anything can happen and it's possible Arreola could still pull off the upset. I'm like if Lewis can't knock him out this guy isn't going to.
They did question if the Klitschkos would be this vilified if they were American. He asked something like if they were from Kansas, or South Carolina, etc, would people still be questioning their style, etc.
I did enjoy Lampley's speech at the end: the Klitschko brothers are 365 days a year guys; they don't take time off. If you're a heavyweight and you want to challenge the brothers, you can't think you can take 10 days off to party and relax and get back to training, because you will NEVER beat one of the brothers with that attitude.
Vitali has never been down in a fight. He has never been BEHIND in a fight. His only losses are by injury or cut. He has the greatest knockout percentage of any heavyweight in history. If that doesn't justify consideration for the greatest fighter in heavyweight history I don't know what will.
I try to tell people these two guys are true Renaissance men if there ever was such a thing. PhD's, four languages, sponsor charities, AND they hold all four heavyweight boxing titles between them!
