This team really cant be serious. Are they planning on making Tavaris Jackson the franchise man or something.

They pass on Matt Schuabb

They ignore David Carr

This team picks up (arguable) the worst QB in the draft.

Sign no undrafted free agents to the position.

Whats the deal? Who will be their QB. I mean seriously. Who is left? Are their any free agents out there?

The Vikings screwed themselves. Tavaris Jackson is probably one of the worst QB's I have ever seen. I can't believe they burned a second round pick on him last year, especially when he would have been available in probably the 5th or 6th round. Stupid Vikings. He wasn't even listed in the top 15 draftable quarterbacks last year

Brad Childress is fast becoming my least favorite NFL coach. Considering how many truly objectionable ones there are presently in the league, that's really saying something. This clueless caste whore had the audactity to publicly criticize David Carr, saying he had no interest in him. When was the last time that an NFL coach publicly questioned the ability of a player on another team? It's not like Carr was some Randy Moss or Terrell Owens-like jerk who embarassed his team or something. Carr is a total gentleman who did nothing to Childress or any other coach in the league. Childress is one of the new breed of coaches, whose lust for black players is so overwhelming that he must promote an obviously mediocre QB like Jackson, when by every impartial standard a David Carr (horribly misused and mistreated but still full of talent) or a Brady Quinn (potential franchise QB) would have been an obvious upgrade and it should have been a no-brainer decision to sign either of them. If there's any justice, Minnesota will be one of the worst teams in the league, and come next season Childress will be looking for a job.

The Vikings will be a miserable failure as a team next year. I don't care who they have running the football it takes a QB to get wins in the NFL.

I am not sure Tavaris Jackson is going to start. Childress has declared an open competition with him and Brooks Bollinger.

Childress coached at Wisconsin when Brooks played QB I think.

The Vikings got a kid out of coastal carolina, Tyler Thigpen...was a great dual threat QB. I am hoping he sticks with the team.

You have to look at the big picture in this particular case. There was a big draft issue last season when some wanted Kellen Clemens in the 2nd round. Its not clear wether it was the GM Foley, Studwell (Dir of college scouting) or Childress, but they ended up having Clemens snaked out from under them by the Jets and Foley ended up being fired. In any case they reached for Jackson and if there is one trait Childress personifies its huberous. He will never admit that Jackson was a mistake and therefore he will be taken down because of it. This guy allowed the season to be destroyed last year because he refused to hand over the playcalling duties at which he was inept at best.

Bollinger, Henson and Thigpen will not be given a fair shake, for Childress to give one of them what they could probably rightfully earn in an open competition woudl be to admit that Jackson isn't the guy. He will give lip service to competition, but in the end Jackson will lead this team to a dismal season record and be mysteriously injured if it becomes blatently obvious that he is a failure (ala Aaron Brooks last season in Oakland).

In the end the Vikings will likely be in the market for another QB next offseason, hopefully one who is capable and not simply African.

As a Bears fan I hope the Vikings finish dead last in 2007, and to think at one time many Bears fans were high on wanting this guy as a coach. Lovie Smith certainly has his faults with his own bouts of stubborness and not running a tight ship discipline wise, but Childress seems like a complete Caste systemrobot from what I have seem out of him. Not to mention that Vikings fans have been notorious for coming to Bears message boards and calling Bears fans rednecks. Chicago is a leftist anti whitey town to some degree, but those goobers up there in Minnesota must be downright Red. They so loved their big black Daunte Culpepper. I remember one Minnesota fan in particular that used to rave about Culpepper being a "black superman", and used to make fun of Cade McNown back when he was our quarterback and called him a "white boy midget." The Vikings are getting what they deserve as far as I am concerend.

The Vikings actually had the nerve to release Kelly Holcom today. I'm not sure what they're seeing whenever Jackson takes the field at QB, but I think we all know they're quite delisional about his skillset. Comparing Jackson to Vince Young would be a bigtime compliment. It should be another funny year to watch the Vikings offense struggle to do anything accept run.

The Minneapolis Media is actually reporting that the Vikings are interested in bringing in Cleo Lemon.

Lets look at the logic. Wehave the second worst QB in the league as our starter, lets bring in the worst and have a competition! I am seriously considering having laser surgery to remove my norseman tat.... Maybe I can just add a ring of swastikas around it and say its racist instead of in support of the team.

I think the public scorn would be less for the latter.
