This weekend’s Light Heavyweight championship bout at UFC 192 between Alexander Gustafsson and Daniel Cormier will be a great opportunity for the first white UFC light heavyweight champion to be crowed since Forrest Griffin 7 years ago. Gustafsson, the once-promising 6’ 5” Swedish mauler who took disgraced former champion, Jon Jones, to the absolute brink 2 years ago (many believe he won the fight) is coming off a devastating loss to Anthony “Rumble” Johnson. He’ll be tested early and often against the rotund, yet admittedly-talented Negro, Cormier. Cormier, the former Olympic wrestler, is an extremely intelligent fighter who can flat out brawl, has the UFC’s best wrestling, and can withstand major punching power with the ability to recover…

Alex Gustafsson, the division’s most diverse striker, also has some of best takedown defense in the promotion and has great takedown ability himself. Both he and Cormier fought Jon Jones, and Alex fared much better. During the Gustafsson/Jones fight, Alex landed more, he took him down with ease, and blocked his takedowns. Cormier survived Jones, but was clearly overwhelmed by Jones’ height/reach advantage. Alex has an nearly identical build to Jones, only with far superior striking…

I believe that Gustafsson’s best chance for victory would be to drastically out-point Cormier, as I don’t believe that Cormier can be KO’ed and he’s far too savvy on the mat to be submitted by a striker. It should be a very interesting fight and it would be fantastic to see Gustaffson complete his arduous journey and have his hand raised at the end of the night. Unfortunately, I tend to believe that Cormier will prevail in this bout via decision or submission. He’s got great stamina, decent striking (particularly uppercuts), he’s fought some very dangerous fighters (in heavyweight and LHW) over the past 5 years and he’s got more championship experience. I truly hope I’m wrong…

Of the 8 UFC weigh classes, there are currently 3 white champions (Weidman, McGregor, Dillashaw), 2 black champions (Cormier, Johnson), 1 mulatto champion (Lawler), and 2 mestizo champions (Werdum, dos Anjos)…

    Heavyweight – Fabricio Werdum

    Light Heavyweight – Daniel Cormier

    Middleweight – Chris Weidman

    Welterweight – Robbie Lawler

    Lightweight – Rafael dos Anjos

    Featerweight – Conor McGregor

    Bantamweight – TJ Dillashaw

    Flyweight – Demetrius Johnson

If Gustaffson were to prevail this weekend, we’d have 4/8 white UFC Champions. If Donald Cerrone prevails in his Lightweight title bout over dos Anjos in December, we’ll have 5/8 white UFC Champions. If Johny Hendricks wins this weekend, he'll certainly be fighting Lawler, we'll have 6/8 white UFC Champions. If Andrei Arlovski were to get a Heavyweight shot in the coming months, we could have 7/8 white UFC Champions. [Fingers crossed]

I agree with your analysis of this fight. Gustafsson will have to be even better than when he fought Jones to win this fight. He is really fighting a cut down hw.

"Word" is that Cormier dropped to LHW because he didn't want to face AKA stable mate "Mud Pride" at HW. However, Brazilian Werdum exposed Cain & would do likewise to Cormier. I hope Gus whips DC, but it seems kind of doubtful.

Below is a recent post on Gus' Facebook. His build seems far more muscular/toned than past fights and he seems very confident. If he can somehow defeat Cormier on Saturday, it would be a truly magical moment for our race. It would be great to see him bring the belt home to Sweden and show all of the Militant Marxists who infest his homeland exactly what white men are capable of. Of course, the talented Cormier is indeed the favorite to win, but you never know in the fight game...

This is a true caste card with Bader v. Evans as the co-feature. It would have had 3 caste matches but Hendricks got kidney stones or something and had to pull out. Still, both the main caste fights could go either way. I think Bader will beat Rashad and while Cormier must be the favorite, Gus has a real shot here. Hendricks would have destroyed Woodley as well, which would have given the DWFs at the bar something to lament. Also keep an eye on Sage Northcutt and Albert Tumenov. Two future white champs!

Robbie Lawler is half white and half Asian so not a mulatto in the true sense. Still would rather have a full white champ but he is better than someone like Woodley. I though Hendricks beat him that second fight and Rory was up 3-1 when he go caught but oh well.

It should be interested to see the 19 year old Sage Northcutt, a 77-time world karate champion who earned a 4.0 GPA in high school and is currently attending Texas A&M for engineering, make his UFC debut. A handful of wins and Northcutt, who could become the Jordan Spieth of the UFC, could surely be a contender at Lightweight (155 lbs)...

Hoping for the best from Gus and Bader tonight against their black foes, but alas, I have a grim feeling that both of our guys will come up short. We'll see...

Sage Northcutt is a force to be reckoned with. He annihilated that mestizo!

Benavidez did not win that fight. That was rigged. Bagautinov was solid.

Bader's footwork is much improved. He didn't look spectacular but a win's a win!

Damn - second straight razor thin decision loss for Gus. Not sure where he goes from here. On the positive side I give Bader a good shot against Cormier.

Gus needs to get a bit of an attitude like Conner Mcgregor. He should have been throwing that right hand a lot more often. He also was successful nearly every time he threw a kick but threw too few. Disappointing since Cormier was there for the taking.

Shame about gus, i think he needs a few gimme fights to rebuild his confidence.

To be fair, cormier actually is quite likable and would def root for him over jon jones. He was very praising of gus and had a white warrior mentality unlike most wimpy blacks.

Like gennedy golovkin, or david silva lawler is white from a caste perpective. I dont think the average joe would think that hes anything else. Lawler ok in my book.
