Tyler Thigpen is one of the most exciting young QBs I've seen in a long time. This unheralded former third- stringer, out of tiny Coastal Carolina, is a marvelous athlete, and has single-handedly jump started what was one of the league's most anemic offenses. Since his insertion as a starter, the formerly woeful KC offense has featured a dynamic passing attack. Same players everywhere else, but this kid has made the difference.

During yesterday's game vs. Buffalo, I heard very little praise for this kid, and the announcers actually questioned whether he had proved he could be the starter next season! Unbelievable. In the last five games as a starter, Thigpen has thrown 11 TDs with only 3 interceptions. He has also scrambled for 203 yards and 1 TD on the season, averaging 7.5 ypc. He even caught a long TD pass. Overall on the season, his numbers are more than respectable for any QB, and phenomenal for a first-year starter on one of the league's worst teams. He has 13 TDs vs. 7 interceptions, and has thrown for only 20 yards less on the season than fat turd Jamarcus Russell, who has started every game. I'd venture those same announcers don't question whether Russell will be "the" QB next season.

This kid would be receiving more acclaim than Michael Vick if he were black. The jock-sniffers would be demanding more running from him, and also more gadget plays to show off his receiving skills. Instead, there is a real question about whether he will even be the starting QB next season.

Here is a perfect example of how the Caste whores in the media (even the fantasy media) view this flashy young player. From Rotoworld:

Tyler Thigpen completed 17-of-31 passes for 240 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions against the Bills in Week 12. He added 29 yards on three scrambles.

The fantasy numbers are great, but Thigpen looked nothing like a future franchise quarterback. His accuracy was shoddy, he was burned twice by rookie corner Leodis McKelvin, and he lost a fumble untouched on a scramble. Quinn Gray replaced him in garbage time because the game was out of hand. Thigpen remains a quality weekly option in the spread offense, at least for the rest of this season.

Is that incredible or what? Can you picture this fantasy web site, or ESPN, or any mainstream media outlet in the world, describing such a performance by a young black QB in the same words?

Agreed. Thigpen has rescued my fantasy team and I'm sure the DWF's are aware of that. There is tremendous desire on the part of sports sites to heavily criticize players and when it comes to white players they become irrational.

Tyler Thigpen, after Tony Romo, is currently the most athletic QB in the NFL.

Bigunreal is correct about the media attitude towards Thigpen. Why would you insult the guy that is quickly making one of the league's least talented teams, the lowly Worm Edwards Cheifs, into weekly contenders?

The answer is simple....they will never give hype to a "nobody" white athlete until he "proves himself" (which involves many, many things). They're scared that Thigpen is legit (which he is) and will take yet another black starting QB spot for the future. The media is losing the Black QB Battle, big time.

They'll openly mention how good Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco are playing ONLY because the idiot DWF's "heard of them" during the draft, etc. For God's sake, it took the sports media years to finally agree that Tom Brady was amazing.

Man, there are new, athletic, young white QBs emerging all over the league. Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, Matt Cassell, Brady Quinn, Trent Edwards, etc. Not to mention younger veterans like Tony Romo, Phillip Rivers, Jay Cutler, Ben Roethlisburger, Carson Palmer, Eli Manning, Drew Brees, and Kyle Orton.

This season, Cassel and Rodgers have been the most impressive newcomers, to me at least. I'd love to see Cassel go to another team and succeed. Obviously, a Pats VS. Patriots superbowl would be a delight.Edited by: Thrashen

The media mistreatment of Tyler Thigpen continues unabated. Here is a blurb from today's Rotoworld:

Despite Tyler Thigpen's improvement, beat writer Adam Teicher believes the Chiefs will still use their 2009 first-round pick in a QB.

The 2009 QB class can be strong, but only if underclassmen like Sam Bradford (Oklahoma), Matt Stafford (Georgia), Nate Davis (Ball Sate), and Tim Tebow (Florida) declare early. Of those, only Stafford seems sure to come out. There's no guarantee that the QBs available will be worth a top-ten pick.

We all know just how enamored the jock-sniffers would be over a young black QB with Thigpen's athleticism. In my opinion, his performance is the most underreported story of this NFL season. Thigpen has produced more than twice as many TDs in half a season than fat turd Jamarcus Russell has all year (and has as many passing yards). He has as many TD passes as Matt Ryan, considered to be perhaps the most impressive rookie QB ever, and more than Joe Flacco. Both of these unusually successful rookie QBs have more talent around them, have started all season and have received far more favorable publicity (although far less, of course, than any black rookie QB would get with half the stats). At least Thigpen got some support from an unexpected source; TE Tony Gonzalez was quoted as saying that it would be a "disgrace" if Thigpen wasn't the Chiefs starting QB next season.

Thigpen hasrevived the Chiefs' offense. They would be almost unfathomably bad without him, worse than the Lions. Herm Edwards has to be one of the worst head coaches in NFL history. The Jets had to completely rebuild in his wake, and the Chiefs will remain a mess until he becomes yet another team's affirmative action experiment.

Kevin Walter is my favorite NFL WR. He's a ripped, lean, tall, fast, strong, physical freak. After bouncing around on the caste Giants and ultra-caste Bengals, Walter (unlike his spoiled black counterparts) EARNED everything he has in the NFL.

Despite constant QB switches this season, Walter is almost assured a 1,000 yard season. He's been torching all-black secondaries all season long. I'd love to see the Texans sign this future star to a long-term deal. Kudos to Gary Kubiak for staying with Walter, Daniels, and Anderson despite the media puppet masters' sickening caste mantra.

Not only does Tony Gonzalez feel strongly about Thigpen being the QB next season, Herman Edwards seems to think that Thigpen should be the starter as well. Although it was kind of a lukewarm endorsement (Edwards said something about "right now" that's the way the team is leaning), it is cause for some optimism.

The sports "journalists," even in the fantasy world, continue to downplay Tyler Thigpen's incredible play.

    From today's Rotoworld:

Tyler Thigpen completed 20-of-41 passes for 320 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions in a Week 16 loss to the Dolphins. He added 57 yards and another touchdown on six rushes.

The monster fantasy game was a microcosm of Thigpen's season. He constantly threw into double coverage, allowing his receivers to make plays, but also showing no hesitancy to put the ball in danger. Though his gunslinging mentality and gutsy scrambling ability breathed life into the offense, Thigpen showed why he is the anti-Chad Pennington. He fumbled twice and was lucky to only have three interceptions as there were half a dozen more that went through defenders hands. It makes for exciting football, but an NFL team can't win with this formula.

For those of you who don't understand jock-sniffing doublespeak, let me translate. Thigpen was up against a Miami defense yesterday that hadn't allowed a touchdown in THREE games. He was also throwing into a strong, swirling wind. Don't know why that was left out of this "unbiased" blurb. Despite this, he threw for over 300 yards and ran for 57, and led the Chiefs to FOUR touchdowns, nearly pulling out the upset victory.

Thigpen would be the talk of the sports world if he was black. As it stands now, he'll be lucky to be the leading candidate to start for Kansas City next season. At the very least, you can bet he'll be given real (not Gus Frerotte type) of competition for the job.

It's pathetic that Thigpen's derisively called the "anti-Chad Pennington," as at the beginning of the season Rotoworld and every other fantasy "expert" unanimously condemned Pennington as a very limited, mostly worthlessquarterback who was merely a caretaker at the position until someone better could be groomed for the rebuilding Dolphins. "Noodle-armed" was what one "expert" called him at every opportunity. Pennington's downside has been injuries; when healthy he has always been a very bright and very effective quarterback with superior field vision and knowledge of offenses and defenses.

There always has to be a knock on white quarterbacks when they are successful. "Gunslingers" are always white because seemingly only black quarterbacks have an aversion to throwing the ball down the field other than the erratic McNabb and laughably bad quarterbacks like Culpepper and Leftwich. To rarely or never go for big plays is contrary to everything natural and instinctive about playing quarterback. Not throwing a lot of picks is the only positive stat Caste hounds can point to when it comes to some black QBs, but it's a very dubious statistic for sure, especially given how few touchdowns are thrown by those same passers.

Thigpen is athletic and fun to watch. And he's also already better than the sleep-inducing Jason Campbell and David Garrard.Edited by: Don Wassall

Both in a book and when a TV analyst, former 49er QB John Brodie insisted that a sucessful quarterback is "a gambling kind of man." He meant that the best quarterbacks throw the ball downfield, gambling on a big play.

George Blanda once said that he had a lot of interceptions because he threw downfield rather than short passes to the backs. The Houston Oilers won the first two AFL Titles because thay signed Blanda, who was the best passing QB available.

Today, George Blanda would be called a "gunslinger." He always went for the big play.

Very well put. The media's little cheap shots at Thigpen wreak of their typical jealously. To them, an exciting player cannot and will not be a white man. Thigpen is their worst fears come true.

Boring black scrubs like Jason Campbell or David Gerrard can't compete with Thigpen in terms of athletecism or big-play ability.

If his all-black defense wouldnt have given up so many easy TD's, perhaps Thigpen's Cheifs (who were playing worse than Detroit before he was starting at QB) could have upset Miami.
