I agree that WV and Iowa playing in 2nd round is a drag but a very good game to watch with their style of play. Gonzaga should have at least been a 2 if not a 1 seed.

I filled out my brackets early and here are my honest picks and not just what I hope for...Duke and Gonzaga in one semifinal(wow) and Boston College and North Carolina in the other one. Duke and NC in final with Duke winning. Sleeper teams are Northern Iowa and Bucknell. Air Force is a tricky princeton offence type of team but very small. I have villanova falling to BC and UConn to North Carolina if not sooner than that. West Virginia and Iowa I have high hopes for too with Duke knocking out either Iowa or WV in the final eight. I would love to see Gonzaga win most of all because they have not won it before but rooting against Duke would be a problem for me. Sometimes I do very well in office pools and sometimes I don't. Just don't want to see UConn, Villanova or Memphis in the final.

All right here I go:

Atlanta bracket: Duke should make it to the final 4. Their biggest hurdles will be Syracuse in the sweet 16 and Texas in the elite 8. But I think Duke will come through.

Oakland bracket: I can't see Memphis coming out of that bracket. Someone else is going to make it. I think either Pitt or Gonzaga. Flip a coin.

D.C. bracket: I see a UCONN, UNC clash in the elite 8. Although UCONN might not make it past Kentucky. Might be an upset there. I'll take UCONN to make it out.

Minneapolis bracket: I'm sticking with the chalk and picking Villanova. Although they will have to survive B.C. in the sweet 16 and that is not guaranteed. They will face and defeat Ohio State in the elite 8.

Final 4: Duke and Pitt/ Zags, UCONN and 'NOVA

Title game: DUKE vs. Villanova

Champion: Duke in a classic.Edited by: Poacher

I like your picks and struggled in similar areas. I do see BC upsetting Villanova and UConn losing to NC. Zags will beat Pitt. Duke and Villanova would be a classic like you said. Duke and NC a better one and that is my pick as I posted above.

guest301,

As a North Carolina resident who's been a life long Duke fan I would love to see a Duke/ UNC final. I've been waiting and waiting for it. Almost got it in 1991 when Duke beat UNLV in the final four but UNC lost to Kansas. It would be awesome. The intensity would be unmatched. Edited by: Poacher

It would be a rubber match too with both teams splitting their games earlier this year. Great for CF too with Redick's swan song and the coming out party for Hansbrough and McRoberts. Paulus and Frasor aren't bad either.

There's four brackets of 16 teams each. That makes 64 teams. Where does the 65th team fit in?

That game started a few years back. Two teams play for the right to get blasted by a #1 seed.

So that's in effect #64 playing #65? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

It's done just becuase D1 has kept expanding but the # of tournament teams have not. So they just have two crappy schools that don't have a chance in hell at winning battle each other out and winner gets man handled by a #1 seed. I would be surprised if they added a 66th team in a few years and have the same thing two #16 seeds play each other for a shot at the #1 seed.

I see them expanding the tournament to 128 sometime in the next five years. First round games at school sites would be to much of a revenue producer to ignore.

BYU got a 6 seed in the NIT, after bowing out of the MWC too early, but the BYU girls got a 7 seed in the NCAA San Antonio regionals. They play Iowa Saturday. The guys play Houston tomorrow. Maybe they will win the whole deal, like they did in 58 and 66.

Who's the best basketballer in BYU history, Reb? Danny Ainge maybe? How good and how White is Air Force this year? I haven't seen them play.

Air Force isn't all that white, at least what they have on the floor. BYU's best player ever was probably Ainge, and then Kosic. Those are the only jerseys to be retired in their program. Danny Ainge is a legend here, like Archie Manning at Ole Miss.

I think there are about three whites who get alot of playing time for Air Force in the one game I saw them play earlier this year.
