Yes it was. Adamek seems to be an intelligent and nice guy, and he sure does have the heart of a lion. I don't think he should have ever moved up to heavyweight. He never really had a big heavyweight punch. But his body matured and it was too hard for him to keep his weight artificially low.

I was afraid that they might rob Glazkov due to the crowd or something, but instead the scorecards were much more lopsided in his favor than I would have had it, tho I did not agree with the tv scorecard where they were giving the early rounds to Ad.

Maybe its for the better that he lost? Had he won he may of thought he could go take on more bouts. We knew Glazkov was going to be heavy work -and he was. At least now he should get the message his next career awaits him.

I don't know about that WW. His body did mature, but remember he was a light heavyweight. After putting on the 25lbs he looked perfect at cruiserweight. He had legit power for the cruiserweight division. I don't think he had trouble keeping his weight in the 200 range. The additional 20 lbs he put on in heavyweight was unneccesary.

He said that he found it too onerous to keep his weight down anymore. He said that his natural weight was around 220. No question he looks fine at the higher weight with no body fat, but the trouble is he doesn't have the big heavyweight punch. Little Miss Hurt Toe, David Haye, moved up in weight too, but he did have the big punch to go with it.

Yeah, I agree, Ambrose, I think it might be time for Adamek to hang up the old gloves and call it a day too. His face didn't look good last night. He had a great boxing career.

Tomasz, needs to campaign at cruiserweight. He will never beat Wlad or top 5 contender. I wonder why he and his management does not see this? WTF Up!!!

My old thread still going strong

I favor Adamek over Szpilka, to be honest.

Old war horse Adamek (39), a hall of famer in my opinion, got knocked out today by a fit version of Molina. Time for Adamek to fully retreat and stop fighting. Hope he was smart with his money.

Tomasz best years were 5 yrs ago. He must still fight because he needs money. I hope this is his last fight.

He actually lives around 20 minutes from me in Kearny, NJ. It is definitely time for him to hang it up. He was great around 2008 but he's clearly lacking now.

Tomasz Adamek, who had his best success at light heavyweight and cruiserweight, is now age 41 (he turns 42 in two months).

Tomorrow, he's fighting the ugly 317 pound Jarrell "Big Baby" Miller.

I have a bad feeling about this fight, Tomasz shouldn't be fighting a prime heavyweight who is 100 pounds bigger.

I would say Miller is more beastly than ugly but to each his own.

Prime Adamek would have a good chance of boxing from the outside and stepping around a 317 pound opponent, with the only drama being a moment when he was hit cleanly by Miller. But an undersized 40+ guy can't have the legs to do this fight plan. I hope the referee is doing his job and Adamek's corner is realistic about his chance of winning this fight as Adamek could take a hiding before the fight is stopped.

This will end badly for Adamek. Guess he desperately needs money.

Yes, the purse for this go nowhere fight is 100K at best, Adamek probably would only get a higher paid rematch if he can pull of the miracle win. He is light years away from sniffing a legitimate championship fight.

Boxers even when they try and do the right thing by investing their money, they have the timing of a tone deaf musician.

Oleg Maskaev owned a few apartments in California when the 2008 real estate crash hit, because he was heavily leveraged he couldn't afford any missed rental payments from broke tenants. This forced his sad comeback in his mid 40's a good ten years past his championship run.

I haven't heard any stories about extravagant spending but he could be a soft touch to members of his family or he too could have believed he was the next real estate tycoon.

Short of a miraculous win, this loss was probably the best case scenario as the prolonged beat down losing scenario didn't happen. Adamek probably has less in the tank than Oldyfield had at a similar age, I hope Adamek realizes he has nothing left to give even at the club fighter level of the pro game. Here's a copy of the(probable) sad end of his career.......

This was a paycheck fight for both fighters more so for Adamek just like White is Right said. I know Miller said Adamek was one of his boxing idols. I know that he tried to finish it as quick as possible.
