haha, did Toby ever even fumble? i couldn't find ANY record of that happening, and he had, what, 700 carries in college?

I recall from the White RBs 2009 or Gerhart college thread- it was reported by a CF poster that Gerhart lost a fumble in a game he was dominating (USC?). He also had a fumble going into the end-zone, that he recovered for a TD, that you can see on dwid's Gerhart highlight video. He never really had a fumbling "problem" in his career though.

It shows exactly what an idiot this Walter Cherpinsky is. I have a feeling he knows very little about any of these players but just follows what other sites write in their scouting reports.

I don't know about slightly slower than Jackson, from what I see its within the range of error as to who is faster. I still see him speeding past Mays in the USC game.

Game speed is much different than a controlled 40 time anyway. Toby has game speed and great bursts, he doesn't have great top end speed but it's good enough to pull away from most NFL LB's.

I've never heard of this "Walturd Twerpinsky" & his p1ss-ant site until CF. He needs to stop inhaling the afflete's jockstrap fumes. Toby has the talent & potential to outpace caste favorite "Gaydrian Peterscum". I think ya'll are correct that ol' "Walturd" is just aping (pun intended) the mainstream caste sites.

A White dweeb for Bleacher Report proudly displays his ignorance of the Caste System along with his loathing of White people. Gerhart is prominently mentioned. Comments can be posted after the article. Snippets:

White American Athletes and the Irrelvance of Their Success in Sports

I watched an Outside the Lines feature on ESPN that came out last December, 2009 about white athletes. It stated that 75% of the NBA is compiled by black Americans, 16% by foreign born players, and the final 9% by white Americans. Then an interview was shown of a white college basketball player (can't remember his name, couldn't find it in research) who claims to have been snubbed by the NBA because of the color of his skin. He's a 6'1, point guard who showed good handles and a pretty three ball. He also played at a small school (can't remember the school either) but he claims he would have been drafted "If I was black."Â￾
According to this report, the NBA is racist. Not just racist but racist against white people. Even as I type that I have a smirk on my face because of the absurdity of that statement.
No offense to whomever that guy on Outside the Lines was but, come on, do you really feel that some NBA executives saw you and said "Hmm, yea he's good but he's too white. Maybe if he was a black guy with the same athletic ability I'd draft him."Â￾

. . . There's a Sports Illustrated article that touches on the skimping of white running backs in the NFL. Sure, a white running back like Gerhart is as a rare as a solid golf swing from Barkley but, honestly, does it matter? There are plenty of white players in the NFL, just because only a few of them play running back, doesn't mean the race card should be played. There should be no such thing as a white race card anyway, we've (the white race) have done enough damage already and I'm not just talking sports.

That could be the single most ignorant statement at the end of the dumbest article I have ever read.

Nice research. Couldn't find the white player's name? Kyle McAlarney. Can't remember the name of the small school? Notre Dame. Worst article ever.

What a bunch of self loathing crap.....

BTW...the player featured in the Outside the Lines piece was Kyle McAlarney, who was a star player on Notre Dame..hardly "a small school"

Isn't this article supposed to be satire? Even if it is, it is still one of the worst such articles I've read.

I didn't think it was possible, but the "sportswriters' on Bleacher Report do even less research than their elder jock-sniffers at ESPN. Notre Dame is a "small school,"Â￾ I'll keep that in mind. Another white homosexual to add to lake of fire.

I guess it's labeled"satire" in the sensethat it makesfunof the idea that White athletes face any kind of discrimination or stereotyping.

Another white American who hates his own race. What a surprise! It boggles my mind how much some white people hate their own race. I guess the brainwashing over many years really does work. My favorite one of all is when white people say that blacks can't be racist.

If this Keff Ciardello jabrone is serious with this hardcore cult-marx drivel, he's one of the biggest racially castrated, limp-wristed panty-wafers on planet earth!

I'm sure he's serious Dixie. I know too many white people that think just like he does. That's why white people are getting pushed around all the time now. By the way do you know what channel the Sylvia fight is on today? I'll probably find a stream anyway.

That bleacherreport guy is a tard!

He also seems to be pushing the "rare White freak" philosophy that he got from his MSM masters. Just a good little sheep.

We already know that the NFL is not about to be filled with White RBs, but it's NOT because Toby Gerhart is the only White man with the ability to tote the rock; It's because of the pervasive Caste System.

It's not as much that this writer hates white people as much as it is a mindless comment. Back when I was a DWF as a younger youth, I made many similar statements without even realizing what I was saying. I was just reinforced with nods, grunts, and "finally, a smart kid" type comments. Basically, the big media and powers that be have paved many routes for intelligient people to follow while being happy and still living in a world of ignorance. Like anybody with affiliations, the odds that they will change their minds when they are getting payed or positively reinforced are extremely low, but the average Joe can transform from a DWF to us a lot faster than you think.

I bet this MORON has NO problem believing that black coaches and QB's have been and still are being discriminated against because of their skin color and/or stereotypes yet they find it impossible for these same "bigots" to discriminate/stereotype Whites and unfortunately this is the overwhelming majority of people (especially the ones in power) right now...

Bleacher report allows anyone (and I mean ANYONE) to author articles. I once expressed interest in authoring an article but changed my mind. I received a whole bunch of emails telling me how to write the article which I did on Landon Donovan. Then the editor told me I'd have to change certain parts.

So I would take any bleacher report article with a grain of salt. The guy who authored that racist trash is a just another DWF

The worst writer on Bleacher report is that Keilyn Ellis guy. His claim is that Jamarcus Russell failed because of racism.

A couple of hours ago I came across a couple of similar articles about Toby. Some interesting language being used here by Toby, his coaches, and the writers.

Just now when I went back to get the links I found this quote at the top of the Google News results page for Toby Gerhart. I've never noticed quotes being listed at the top of the page when I've done other searches. Interesting stuff.

The writer has no clue of why there are so few White running backs at FBS schools, but this is a good piece given his limited awareness:

Toby Gerhart Is White, and That'sAlright

by Christopher Gates

A rather large furor was caused after the revelation that, leading up to the NFL Draft, Miami Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland had asked WR Dez Bryant if his mother had worked as a prostitute during his youth. Bryant was put off by the question, and quite understandably so. . .after all, had anybody asked you if your mother spent your youth turning tricks, you'd probably be a but perturbed by the whole thing, too.

But a recent article from the St. Paul Pioneer Press brings up another case of a guy getting grilled over something silly in the days leading up to the draft, that person being Toby Gerhart, one of the Vikings' two second-round selections in this year's annual selection meeting. Gerhart was asked numerous times by teams if he was going to be playing tailback in the NFL. . .after all, there aren't currently any white starting tailbacks in the National Football League, and the Vikings already have the best back in the game in Adrian Peterson, so they obviously drafted Gerhart to block, right? Isn't that what white running backs in the NFL do?

Honestly, I can't roll my eyes back in my head any farther without having a blood vessel explode.

star-divide.v5547.jpg

Why on earth would the Minnesota Vikings. . .or anybody else. . .draft somebody with Toby Gerhart's obvious physical talent to play fullback? The man runs the 40-yard dash in 4.53 seconds, he has a 38-inch vertical leap, and he should have won the Heisman Trophy last season after putting up over 1,800 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns. Does that sound like an NFL blocking back to you?

Really, at this point in time, shouldn't we be past junk like this? Yes, there aren't a whole lot of white running backs in the National Football League. The black quarterback used to be stigmatized for a long time, too. . .if you don't believe me, you can just ask Warren Moon. But why on earth, in this day and age of America having elected a black President, of the Supreme Court being comprised of whites, blacks, and now its first ever Latina, do people feel the need to attempt to pigeonhole Toby Gerhart as a "white running back?" He might be a bit of an anomaly, sure, but the guy has physical skills that rival many running backs in today's NFL, regardless of their skin color.

Unfortunately, players like Gerhart are not going to be compared to their peers at the position, simply on the basis of skin color. Another player got some similar treatment in the weeks leading up to the draft, that being Texas wide receiver Jordan Shipley, eventually drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals. On every draft preview show and in every draft magazine, do you know who Shipley. . .who put up amazing numbers at Texas, was compared to? Go on. . .take a guess.

If you said "Wes Welker," you're correct. Why? Well, it's not because their games are similar, because they're nowhere close to the same type of receiver. Welker is an amazing slot receiver, making quick cuts and amassing a ton of yards after the catch. Shipley, on the other hand, is a bit more of a possession guy, not nearly as fast or as quick as Welker.

No, the Shipley/Welker comparisons were inevitable because both players have, as it were, the "white" stuff. Just like there aren't a lot of white running back in the NFL, and hence people are hesitant to compare Gerhart to other players at the position, there aren't terribly many wide receivers at this level, either. Hence, people have the tendency to simply compare guys like Gerhart and Shipley to the first white guys that cross their minds, no matter how inaccurate those comparisons may be.

Toby Gerhart's lack of pigmentation does not automatically mean that he's a fullback. He's a 253-pound bowling ball covered with knives that has shown a powerful running style, enough moves to make people miss, and amazing productivity as a college running back. And hopefully he'll be able to get past the stereotype of the "white running back" to have a good enough career that, in the future, people will be able to compare numerous different running backs to him. . .regardless of their skin color.

Here is another example of the anti-white bias at almost every sports site on the planet. This is Scout.com's listing of the top running backs for the 2010 draft.

FRANCHISE
STARS

1. Evan Royster, Penn State (Jr.)

2. Jonathan Dwyer, Georgia Tech (Jr.)

3. C.J. Spiller, RB Clemson

4. Jahvid Best, RB California (Jr.)

LIKELY STARTERS

5. DeMarco
Murray, RB Oklahoma (Jr.)
6. Chris Brown, RB Oklahoma

7. LeGarrette Blount, RB Oregon

8. Charles Scott, RB LSU
9. John Clay, RB Wisconsin
(3rd year Soph.)
10. Noel Devine, RB West Virginia
(Jr.)
11. Kendall Hunter, RB Oklahoma
State (Jr.)

BEST OF THE REST

12. James Starks, RB Buffalo
13. Damion Fletcher, RB Southern
Miss
14. Stafon Johnson,
RB USC
15.
Mike Ford, RB South Florida (Jr.)
16. Da'Rel Scott, RB Maryland
(Jr.)
17. Toby Gerhart, RB Stanford
18. Anthony Dixon, RB
Mississippi State
19. Michael Smith, RB Arkansas

20. Mikell Simpson, RB Virginia

21. Ben Tate, RB Auburn
22. Andre Anderson, RB Tulane
23.
Javarris James, RB Miami
24. MiQuale Lewis, RB Ball State

Many of us here were upset that Toby was listed as the 5th best back of the draft when he's most likely the best. These idiots have him at 17! How ridiculous is that? LaGarrette Blount, a player that wasn't even drafted, is listed way ahead of him.
