Titans Defense Dominates

The Titans are also looking at signing David Givens and have proposed an offer. Drew Bennet is once again being cast aside for black wrs when its obvious he is one of the best WRs in the draft. I hope Kassel and Boiman both go to places where they are appreciated. I would love to see Kassel in Detroit playing alongside Lehman.

I don't think the Titans will be drafting Young. If they are going to go for a QB I think it will be Cutler(as long as Leinart isn't there). As for David Givens I think it could actually maybe help out Bennett. Teams won't be able to double cover Drew anymore leaving him with one on one coverage all the time.

The Titans did sign white free agent WR Grant Mattos a few weeks ago. Mattos spent a year with San Diego but had no catches (but did make two tackles as a STD!). He has good size at 6-2 and 220. One thing in his favor is that he played for USC when Norm Chow was there. Chow is now the offensive coordinator for Tennessee. DraftDaddy wrote this about Mattos:

"[A] long shot player to watch out for is tall street free agent Grant Mattos, who spent a season on the Chargers roster coming out of USC. Tennessee OC Norm Chow, who coached Mattos at USC, absolutely loves Mattos' size, hands and quickness and has gone out of his way to praise him before, so he could find a spot on the roster with a good pre-season performance."

New Orleans had been widely predicted as going for Matt Leinert with the second pick, but since the Saints signed Drew Brees yesterday, Leinert will be available if the Titans want to draft a QB. As much as I like Billy Volek, drafting Leinert would ensure that this is McNair's last year as a starter. Drew Bennett can thrive with Leinert at quarterback just as he did with Volek.
