Yah that is one of those knockoff awards like those knockoff blackmarket products you can sometimes find in third world countries.

Now when he goes to the NFL will he be treated like Vince Young or Eric Crouch?

congrats to Tim Tebow. he had more rushing touchdowns than McFadden and more wins that McFadden.

"Analysts" said that McFadden was explosive and a great back. i wonder what that makes Tebow?

The same "analysts" criticized Tebow because Florida lost 3 games, saying that no player has won the Heisman with his team having 3 losses. Funny, but they didn't mention Arkansas' four losses.

Tim Tebow will probably be a place holder for fake field goal attempts. that way he can run it, pass it, or accept HUGE criticism if the play doesn't work.

or he can be a fullback on a Michael Vick or Vince Young commercial.

but i bet Tebow will have to be gradually worked into those roles. he will either be the first red-shirt NFL rookie or the guy who passes cups of Gatorade to all the "star ath-a-leets." You know he has to pay his dues...

Yahoo sports called him a "QB in a fullback's body". I guess that means he's suited to block for black players at the next level.

You're all over it, Jaxvid. Tebow will get screwed because he too damn good. He can run. He will be forced to play WR or somesuch nonsense in the NFL -- if he can crack a roster at all. The Caste System is an evil thing

Tebow still has another year to prove himself as a passer, and i have a felling he will not run nearly as much as a junior.

Tim Tebow is like no other quarterback in the history of the NFL. He has all the measureables and physical attributes (and way more) plus he has the "it" factor that Tom Brady has.

Tebow is Tom Brady with Superman-like athletic ability. His intelligence obviously sets him apart from the "black athletic wave of the future" quarterbacks the media adores.

Tebow will play quarterback in the NFL and he will be a stud!!!

Nice Stonewall! Way to be optimistic, Tebow gets so much media praise and coverage and has so many fans i think it would be hard for anyone to change his positon!

I agree with those sentiments, celticdb15. Tebow has legions of fans and admirers and plays for a university that routinely plays for the SEC title and is mentioned as a national title contender. As long as he continues to progress as a passer, he can't be ignored and the typical caste screw job of a position change won't happen to this guy.

professional football is a joke.

the only way for it to get better is if some trillionaire somewhere had
nothing better to do with his time or reputation and decided to
market a competing league that didn't play politics.

edited to add :

and college football is too political now too.Edited by: jaygatsby

It's amazing that people even mention fullback and Tim Tebow in the same breath, let alone suggest that he actually PLAY the position.

Is there any chance at all that a black football player with his stats, attributes, and record would EVER be considered for fullback???

I think they mean as a running fullback in the mold of Riggins, Jim Brown, Ed Podolak and others. To be a blocking fullback would be a waste of his legs. I hope that was what they meant some of these commentators are so brainwashed who knows...
