Instead of allowing Pavlik or Bute to take his place they are going after another afflete in Allan Green and Sakio Bika. Neither of those two deserve it.

The Abraham-Dirrell fight was supposed to have taken place Saturday but Andre claims to have injured his back and the fight has been pushed back to March 27. Abraham's trainer questions the validity of Dirrell's injury saying "How can he [Dirrell] already know that he'll be fit a 100 percent come March 27? When someone gets injured he can't already call the date of being healthy again. Camp Dirrell just want to play mind games with us, but this won't give them any advantage. We will continue to keep Arthur staying focused and won't get thrown off track."

Funny how the fight, which was originally scheduled for California now ends up in Dirrell's home state of Michigan

It seems they didn't feel too confident in facing Abraham on a somewhat neutral site.

I don't like the fact that this fight is in the US. European fighters always get screwed in decisions when the fight goes to the cards in the US and especially against affletes. Abraham is the man, plain and simple. I think he's gonna put the childish negro Dirrell on the canvas!

Two weeks from now King Arthur will be facing afflete Andre Dirrell. Dirrell, as you can all remember, likes to exhibit plenty of TNB in the ring such as taunting and sticking out his tongue. He tried this crap with Carl Froch and was tossed around the ring like a little boy. I'd love to see him up his taunting game against King Arthur. He's in for a rude awakening!! Look what this pig wrote about Abraham. http://www.boxingnews24.com/2010/03/abraham-vs-dirrell-andre-won%E2%80%99t-let-arthur-get-his-shots-off/

What is interesting (and heartening) is the overwhelming negative response to this article. As of 3/15/10, there were 15 posted comments to this article, all of which were hostile: 14 obviously negative responses (people disagreeing with the writer's assessment of Direll's boxing superiority) and 1 sarcastic "compliment".

I doubt that all these posters are CF members...boxing fans are becoming aware of the caste prejudice of sports writers!

Vindicator, this guy Scott Guilfod or whatever his name is loves black boxers. He constantly praises every single one. I made several comments that were immediately removed. Several other posters made comments which were also removed. I could care less what he says because he does the same with every white fighter and nothing he says has even a bit of truth to it.

The continued hate of all the European boxing champs continues from the DWF's all over America. You have so called boxing "experts" like this drunk white fan Guilfod constantly hating on them. Abraham is undefeated and knocks guys out at will yet he's somehow not a great fighter. I'm hoping afrolete Dirrell gets viciously knocked out by Abraham just like Jermain "Sad Intentions" Taylor. I am thinking if that happens this Guilfoid guy will need to be on suicide watch.

Another great article from our buddy Guilfoid. This guy is an absolute joke.

This Gilfoid comes across as some high school kid wannabe boxing writer. I can't take him seriously.

And judging by the posters there, no one else takes him seriously either.

He's laughable.Edited by: The Hock

Froch-Kessler is next weekend. I'm picking Mikkel by UD in this one. I also see Mikkel making a great comeback and winning this tournament.

Who do you guys like in tonight's fight?

I think Ward will dominate Green and maybe stop him late. I would love to be wrong.

I'd like to see Green win, but the deck is stacked against him in Oakland, as it was against Kessler.

I think Ward will win, likely by wide decision but possibly by late TKO.

BD(White Devil) just kidding, you nailed it. Ward got a UD winning every round. I thought the KO would come in the 11 or 12 rounds.

Ward is establishing himself as the favorite. He fought like a young Roberto Duran and mauled Green with excellent infighting. He made Green look inept and C fighter. Either Ward is very good, or Green never was.

Next up, Ward fights Dirrel and Green vs Kessler. I think Kessler will KO him within 8rds. Ward will get the nod over Dirrel.

Andre Ward is the dirtiest and most boring fighter since Bernard Hopkins.

He was leading with his head, pushing it up to Green's chin, then tucking his left under Green's right arm to prevent him from using it, then hitting with his own right. Those are illegal tactics, but the referee didn't say much.

It isn't fair to the other participants that Ward gets to have all his fights at home, where he can get away with his headbutting and holding.

He pulled a similar dirty gameplan against Kessler. I'm hoping Abraham pulls himself together after the Dirrell loss and knocks Ward out if they face each other in the future.

Current Standings

1. Ward 4 pts
2. Abraham 3 pts
3. Kessler 2 pts
4. Froch 2 pts
5. Dirrell 2pts
6. Green 0 pts

Judging from last night's performance...Green will be an easy three points for Mikkel. Ward-vs-Dirrell I'm not sure who wins that one. One guy runs all night and "slips" every time an opponent gets him in a corner. The other one mauls you to death. I give Abraham the edge against Froch.

NEWS AlERT!!! Kesseler withdraws from the Super Six due to lingering eye problem. Doctor advised him to avoid boxing for a year, to let it heal properly. Too bad, he would have gotton a highlight KO of Green. Best of Luck to him.

If the organizers were smart, they would get Lucian Bute to replace him. I can only hope.

Damn!! Yes I would love to get Bute in to take his place. Knowing how the system works though it will probably be another black.

Bute is signed by HBO so it won't be him.

I think they'll make the semifinals the already scheduled bouts between Ward-Dirrell and Abraham-Froch. The winners should fight for the belt and the winner can then hopefully fight Kessler in 2011.

Needless to say, I'll be cheering for the winner of Froch-Abraham (I think Carl may take this one).

Yeah, I agree, Frochy does have the ability and swagger(confidence) to beat Abraham. Frochy will carry the torch for us against either Dirrell or Ward, with a excellent chance to defeat either of them.

This sucks!!!! From Fightnews:

<div id="line">Abraham-Froch Update</span></font>

Bout is officially postponed </span></font>

</div>

The all crucial
Super Six fight between Arthur Abraham and Carl Froch has been postponed
to a later date. The preparations of King Arthur up to now have gone
without big problems, however his opponent from England has suffered a
back injury according to his promoter Mick Hennessy. This forces the
former WBC super middleweight world champion to take a two-week training
break. Therefore, the fight originally scheduled for October 2 at the
Chapiteau de Fontvieille in Monaco must take place at a later time.

"This is really very unfortunate. The whole world is feverishly
awaiting this fight. However, you can't do anything about injuries,
which sometimes come in such a hard sport like boxing,"Â￾ said Abraham's
Hall of Fame promoter Wilfried Sauerland. "Nevertheless, it's just
postponed not canceled. So Arthur Abraham will just beat "The Cobra"Â￾ in
November or December. We're working hard on finding a new date."Â￾

The exact date in which the Super Six fight can be fought will be
announced as soon as possible. Already purchased tickets will remain
valid for the new date.

Here's what I find interesting, initially if a fighter was eliminated from the tournament, then the replacement would receive their points total. Kessler had 2 points, but now the fighter who takes his place will be starting on 0.

This means that Green and the replacement would need a stoppage win to progress.

Here's how the points total stands as of now -

Ward - 4
Abraham - 3
Froch - 2
Dirrell - 2
Green - 0
Replacement - 0

If the replacement were to inherit the eliminated fighter's point total, as was supposed to be the case, then they would have a good chance to progress to semi-finals.

What does this mean?

Well, the options are limited as to who will replace Kessler.

Robert Stieglitz would be the obvious choice here. By starting someone like Stieglitz on 0, you are really minimizing his chances, as I don't believe he is really a big puncher. So Showtime would be pretty much making sure there will be at least 2 blacks in the semi-finals.

What they could also do is give Green a really soft touch, so that he will pick up 3 points and then make sure the Ward-Dirrell fight ends up as a draw, or with Dirrel as the winner. That would make 3 blacks and 1 white in the semi-finals, regardless of the Froch-Abraham outcome.

Maybe I'm reading a bit too much into this.

PUtting a fighter in Kessler's place with 0 points is not the right thing to do this deep into the tournament. I'm sure plenty of fighters will jump at the opportunity though as it will mean a nice pay day. Don't expect that fighter to win though,.

Glen Johnson is replacing Kessler and will fight Green.

And another piece of news --

<h1 ="h2">Andre Dirrell out of Super Six tourney</h1>

http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=5659177

Here's what I don't get; wouldn't Dirrell have had these neurological
tests shortly after the Abraham fight? So, why have they been in
negotiations for the Ward fight for months?

It doesn't add up.

Let me break this down as much as I can -

  1. Abraham fight was in March.

  2. Neurological tests must have taken place and results recieved not long after, a couple of weeks at most I'd imagine.

  3. Dirrell and Ward's sides have been negotiating for the fight since probably April or May.

  4. Dirrel wasn't in any serious training camp, so the injury couldn't have
occurred or worsened much in the meantime one would imagine.
Did Art make further mush of this negro's brain, or does he just not want to fight his buddy?

Dan Rafael and others have been reporting about how the Dirrell and his mulatto chum have been trying to weasel their way out of the fight.

I think he didn't want to fight Ward and this "injury" is a cover-up. Sickening.
