What is interesting in this fight is how Bhop looked so much smaller that Sergey in the ring. BHop did a great job on selling this fight. Yeah most of DWF nation brought into the BS. But I come here to read the truth, unlike the MSM.

No, they looked to be the same size. Kovalev stands somewhat straighter, Hopkins was crouching more.

Check the presser and weigh-in photos I posted a couple of pages back.

Kovalev was the same weight at the weigh-in on Friday. He's not bigger, he's just better.

Kovalev, who had a lot to lose, did what he should have done and beat the fifty year old man. Hopkins had some moments when he caught Kovalev with some nice counters, but few and far between. Still the old fella kept it interesting, if with nothing else than his reputation. It was the most tense one-sided fight I've ever watched. Happy for Kovalev that he's making some money now.

To me Bbore looked somewhat smaller, compared to Sergey in the ring. That is all I am stating. But to me that is ok, Bernard sold a fight he wished he could have won. Reality set in tonight.

I actually gained some respect for Hopkins after this fight. At least he's not a coward and took a fight with the most dangerous fighter in the division in Kovalev. He also lasted the entire fight and I seriously doubt any other fighter in the division could have. Maybe it's good that Kovalev went a full 12 rounds. It gave him experience against a great defensive fighter.

N'r: "I'll never let a white boy beat me."

:eyebrows:

That black boy's probably gonna be talkin' like Riddick Bowe from now on!

Stevenson ain't crap. The next huge fight looming in that weight class is... Kovalev vs Beterbiev!

It was worth wading through hours of BS by that fat British slob (serves me right for turning the thing on so early...but whenever I turn a big fight on even a minute late...the fight's already over! Murphy's Law).

Brilliant fight by K. Never even gave the negro a chance to pull any of his usual bs, head butts and the like.

I'm still shocked that the judges gave it to K. Is something wrong with the boxing mafia in A.C.? I'm worried about them now. I remember how they gave Ali the decision over Norton and a million others. They even selected an honest referee. A.C. ain't Las Vegas, huh? I'm also surprised that the stream didn't freeze up at the crucial moments like it usually does. Humor highlight: When the negro raised its paw after the fight was over as if it had won!

Agree. Its difficult to knock out a man who doesn't come to fight but to survive. In some rounds Hopkins may have only thrown 10 punches and they were feints. Anyone remember Vitali vs "the kingpin" Johnson? Vitali never even hurt him. But I bet Hopkins is feeling sore, swollen, beaten, and very old today!

HOpkins realized after round 1 that he had no chance. The rest of the fight was survival mode. The simple truth is that Hopkins is not good enough to be in the same ring as Kovolev. In fact Hopkins has NEVER been on the same level. Sergey never really stepped on the gas in this bout. He would have KOed Hop if he would have. He played it safe, and gave no chance to the racist, ignorant child.

One reason why Robert E. Lee was a great general was because he realized he could counter every move of the Union Army with brilliant defense, but he knew that he would eventually lose the war that way because the Union Army was larger, stronger, and had more support.

So, he went on the offense and seized the initiative because taking the fight to the enemy was the only shot the South had.

Sure he still lost but at least he went down swinging, and landed some crushing shots along the way to gain respect and immortality.

That's why people automatically think "Robert E Lee" as the greatest Civil War general, and nobody gives a flying fig about Union guys except maybe Grant, who outweighed the South in every category.

Point is, avoiding defeat isn't the same as being a great fighter.

I think Hopkins is a great boxer but he isn't a true sportsman and warrior in the sense that Jake LaMotta was a warrior.

Hopkins talks a lot of trash, isn't a gentleman, is quite a racist, and when it finally comes down to it, doesn't want to engage, and he tries to avoid defeat through cheap shots and illegal moves rather than try to actually win the fight honestly, man to man.

Hopkins deserves respect for his career longevity but I think this endurance stems in large part from his nasty sportsmanship and refusal to really mix it and go toe to toe.

A man like Jack Dempsey, on the other hand, was of the mentality, "I'm gon' knock your f*cking ass to another planet."

People remember Dempsey. Tunney was great, too, and on a WHOLE other level compared to Hopkins. Hopkins is garbage. Tunney is class but his conservative style didn't rock the world. And yet, only fight fans know of him.

People only pretend to think Hop is great because they want to act like he's this legend who fought three decades' worth of wars in the ring.

Uh. No.

Had a White fighter acted like Hopkins throughout his career, he would be given the nod as a long-lasting boxer, yes, but would be dismissed as a boring, irritating, racist creep who is afraid to trade punches because he will lose EVERY time if he pulls that sh*t against a real boxer.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate you taking the time to download this video. Hope your having a great weekend. I know I am. What a fight. Hopkins ran damn near the whole fight as he did not want to get knocked out by the evil white man. Lol.

Just watched the replay. Several things that got Sergey the dominate win. 1st. That spearing right to Bbore's body was key to breaking down the old man. 2. Sergey fought at a distance which I stated weeks ago would one of the keys to winning. 3rd, once they were entangled, Sergey put Bbore in a headlock to prevent him from plying his dirty tactics. Also, when they were grappling, Sergey tucked his head close to Bbore's neck to prevent Hopkins shots. The world is Kovalev's. Stevenson will never fight him. He should rain for the next five years.

I will give credit to Hopkins for going the distance and tagging Sergey a hand full of times. If he is smart, go to Canada and beat the retard up there and call it a career to prevent getting beat by another white boy.

I agree, thank you to Carcharias for providing a link to watch the whole bout for free!

I think if both fighters were 25 to about 37 (so, their prime years), it would be a much closer battle as age will erode Hop's reflexes, but I still think Koralev's natural aggression and toughness would overcome even a young Hopkins, who even in his youth fought the same pedantic, insufferably boring Floyd Mayweather style.
