You can youtube it. He wasn't on the verge of being knocked out - a little dizzy maybe but more like suffering from low blows. It was near the end of the round anyway. I think Kovalev assumed one of the many low blows delivered consecutively at the end would surely be called so he sunk into a crouch. Still I've never seen a TKO stoppage due to body blows on someone that wasn't down - let alone not even given a count.

Been Lurking awhile now, after seeing this travesty unfold for the 2nd time I have to post, He wasn't knocked out he was low blowed again and again and again until there was a solid hit, no referee chastisement at all. the ref was corrupt the judges too this was even more blatant than the last fight which Kovalev won....it was sad and the ref immediately jumped in to call it even though he should have DQ'ed Ward long before for his crotch shot attempts. The video evidence is indisputable, this is black privilege of the worst and Vegas corruption at its worst, a fixed in the bag fight corrupt to the core all sides, and the media via policy and the atypical denial crowd pushing their agenda and blinders....not saying you are that, in fact you are the opposite but with all the brainwashing about "black superiority" in boxing via the ESPN, FOX, etc. attitude and the general sentiment of the boxing "community" in general whites have been for a long time screwed over by the and talked down upon by the sports media complex. You know this and it requiring them amazing disassociation from basic reality to provide a false template. Ward was dirty in the first fight and still lost he was going deep but still didn't have it in the bag and he pulled this stunt to ensure victory, probably pre-planned. Who is this ref?... the black Lawerence Cole?
Just watched the whole fight. Yes it was a horrible stoppage. Kovalev had been hurt a bit by the one clean Ward shot but but not hurt badly and he was fighting back and moving well, and wasn't close to out on his feet. He wasn't even hurt badly enough when he was on the ropes to warrant a standing 8 count. Ward then delivers 3 obvious low blows in succession and Kovalev is bending over to keep Ward from hitting him low. Weeks should have stepped in at that point and deducted a point from Ward and given Kovalev 5 minutes to recover. The stoppage was obviously the wrong thing to do in that situation. It's Refereeing 101, you don't stop a fight on low blows, instead you give the guy 5 minutes to recover. Obviously the wrong decision. If whatever the appropriate boxing commission is that is in charge of this doesn't overturn the result and order an immediate rematch, they will further be exposed as totally corrupt and a joke. But we already know they are. Kovalev shouldn't fight in the US anymore. He obviously will be cheated again. This is such bullshi* because he is such an awesome fighter and boxing fans are being cheated of seeing this great fighter continue as champion and enjoy a long reign with great fights. Instead we get this corrupt, dishonorable, nauseating garbage.

Yep tonight he was as incompetent or corrupt as anything Lawrence Cole has done in recent years. To be fair to Weeks I have never seen him be this incompetent or biased before.
Just watched it. OMG, Ward is the dirtiest Motherf'er I have ever seen. He charges in with his head, holds and hits. He does it over and over again, right from the beginning. That is his style!! He has mastered it. He won't box. It is only this corrupt system that allows a guy like that to be labeled a champion.

Most of the stories on Eastside Boxing reported what a robbery it was, even showed vids of all the low blows. But it will all soon be forgotten about, and Andre Ward will be considered the top pound for pound boxer and be considered an all time great.

I'm just saying I don't know about the guy but if you've seen him before maybe he was used this one time for a screwjob(pure speculation but this is one of the crappiest I've seen in terms of fairness). I've seen quite a bit of boxing, I know the rules, I've never seen any ref not eventually call this stuff except in one case, and Cole did that atrocity. The announcers were all over it in that case. I think the boxing fan base whats left is going to tune out, but the most aggravating part of this is the cover up by the "mainstream", once again trying to dissuade people from what their EYES clearly saw...its blatant.

I don't think Ward can or will run through all of the contenders at either LH or Cruiser. He'll drop the titles so he can pick and chose, fake, cheat, and never lose.
