Big Ben said nothing disrepectful about his receivers. He said they were unbelievable. Hines is beingsilly. I don't blame him for wanting a tall or taller receivers. It only makes sense. The Packers were kept from advancing to the Super Bowl last weekend because their short defenders couldn't contain the much taller Plaxico Burress.

Ward has a strong baby streak in him. Fans like him because of the constant presence of his "room brightening smile" -- and in addition to being a very good receiver healso blocks with relish, the desire for which must comefromhis Korean mother-- but he is prone to making stupid and selfish comments. For instance, just aboutevery time he sets a new Steelers team record he pouts about how no one gave him a chance, no one expected him to be anything in the NFL. He was a 3rd round draft pick for crying out loud. A whole helluva lot of white receivers would have done anything to have had the opportunities to succeed Ward has had.

He should blameGeorgia for moving him around from QB to RB to WR if he`s always felt unappreciated. It was obvious to me during his college days that he could be a good receiverin the NFL, but he didn`thave the ability for the other positions.

I suspect there`s quitea bit of jealousy involved in this soon-to-be simmering feud. The reason is very simple: Big Ben is going to get a huge contract to stay well beyond 2009 with the Steelers, while Hines Ward-heading into his 11th season-will be lucky to be in the NFL after 2009.

The SteelersDOneed a bigger, talented receiver. I said on another thread that Jordy Nelson would be someone good to draft, orpossibly trade for Matt Jones. But, with Mike Tomlin as the head coach, I can`t see this scenario happening.

BIg Ben is not disrespecting Hines Ward and his contributions to the teamover the years. He simply wants more weapons for the 2008/9 season. He wants a better team. What could be wrong with this?
