white lightning,

are you sure there is a meet in Germany before the WC? I don't see it on the IAAF schedule.

This meet is loaded with guys who have run or can go sub 10! It should be exciting and it will be available online as far as I know. Don't worry, I will find the link. I need to start charging for my services.

Looks like the Rocket is only running the 200m in Berlin. I think thats a smart choice for him. we may see this boy go sub 20!

I hope Ramil is going to be ready. He hasn't raced since the Euro Junior Champs. That is a long time to go with out lacing up the spikes against other sprinters. He is focused however and I'm sure that his coach knows what he's doing. He needs to learn to run that curve like Allan Wells did. He stayed on the inside of his lane as good an anyone did. This helps cut your times down. Every little bit counts when you are racing against the best sprinters in the world. Here is to Ramil going sub 20!

The 200 mens heats start on Tuesday. I can't wait to see how Ramil does. One thing that is frustrating is how little publicity he gets because he is from such a small country. I wonder if that could hurt his career. He probably doesn't get near the type of training he would get in the US, England, etc. This guy is too good to not have the best coaches, trainers, physical therapists, dieticians, etc. I hope they can get him the training he needs. If not, he should consider running for a bigger country where he can make more money while getting better exposure. Plus the coaching and other things he needs to succeed. Good luck to Rocket Ramil this week!

Well Ramil has made his was through to the finals of the 200 meters at the 2009 Berlin World Championships of Athletics! He ran a 20.28 in his semi final heat to advance to the final. He is in a bad lane however. Lane one will be very hard to make the podium but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. What a meet by the young man. He is showing that he will be a contender on the world scene for the next decade. Ramil should be a serious contender as well in the 2012 Olympics. He will only be 22 years of age by then. This guy will only be 26 at the 2016 Games. Rocket Ramil is going to be a star to watch. Good luck in the finals tommorow.

not bad! the boy has had a long season, really looking forward to see what he can do next year. he should make it his point to get into as many races as Lemaitre as possible. the two of them need to feed off each other.

Guliyev will race one last time in Zagreeb in a couple of days. He will be racing in the 100 meters! Let's hope for a really fast time. His p.b. is 10.08!

10.51 for Ramil in Zagreb. Didn't even qualify for the final. I wonder what's happened to him?
Kuc and Osvnikor also ran poorly.
I guess it's time to call it a season...

No he is just tired/flat. Really he underperformed in the finals at the worlds. He was competitive in the semifinal and seemed to have no legs in the final. It's been a long and successful season for a 19 year old junior. He is just showing his age now.

well the Rocket is back for another race in Brussels, going up against Bolt. Hession is also in the race. this kid has had a long season so I'm not expecting any super fast time, but you never know. Good luck to The Rocket and The Gael!

Here is the link to the Brussels Meet. It starts anytime now. Wariner is going to try and break MJ's Meet Record in the 400. Ramil will be in the 200 meters against Bolt along with Hession. It is also on wcsn.com other wise known as universalsports.com

For the rest of you, I got you covered. Excepting all xmas gifts as thanks. Lol.

rocket takes third behind Bolt & Spearman. not a super fast time, but not bad for the 19 yr old. he had a bad drive phase, actually none at all, and he needs to work on his turn. when you take his age and his long season, this was a great race. him and Pepe are truly the future!Edited by: albinosprint

I agree. I was very proud of how he tryed to stay with Spearmon who finished in 2nd. Guliyev is getting the experience of racing these guys. He is getting an idea of the level that he will have to get to. That third place finish is very nice i.m.o. We also have to remember that it was very cold and raining on and off all night. That effects almost everyone unless your Bolt. He runs faster and coasts the last 10-15 meters. Must be nice Lol.

Wariner looked good. He destroyed the field even though his winning time was only a 44.94! He looked as dominant as S.Richards. Hopefully he will get his number one spot back next year.

I had no idea how little arm swing Guliyev had. I don't know the first thing about sprinting mechanics, but just from a common stance standpoint, his lack of arm swing looks like it has to be impeding his times. It almost just looks like he has limp arms.

Lack of strength. He and Lemaitre need to hit the weights to build the upper body, particularly the shoulder arera. They will run very fast.. Look at Usain Bolts shoulders - they pop out. Clearly the guy does much shoulder work; the shoulders dictate the opposite leg, keeps the body stable and straight.<div>
