Watching some of the WGC Cadillac I saw an interview with Patrick Reed where he said he feels like he's one of the top 5 players in the world right now and he feels he can't be beat. At just 23 years of age and 2 PGA Tour wins and playing well early today, this is the kind of player and confidence you need to become the number 1 player in the world. I have a new favorite player and it's Patrick Reed! Good luck today Patrick and I hope you win wearing the black pants and red shirt!

Reed is currently ranked 44th in the world.

I was going to start a thread on Reed if he wins the WGC-Cadillac event, you beat me to it! He's looking in control so far today against a very strong field. He'll move up to number 20 in the world rankings if he prevails.

Tiger Woods is +3 in the early going after starting the round close to the lead. All of a sudden he has a "bad back" again just like the final round last week with the presstitute announcers of course not questioning it. Johnny Miller started off today by saying what a threat Woods is in the final round, before then noting that Woods has broken 70 in the final round just twice in his last 18 tournaments. Apparently DWFs are expected not to notice the disconnect between Miller & Co. still pretending Woods is a great closer and reality. Hopefully Woods will be having a lot more fourth round "bad backs" this year.

Reed closes out The WGC Cadillac Championship for his 3rd win in 8 months! Look for the media now to try and take him down for the comments he made about being a top 5 player in the world!

Where were the top 5 players in the world today? Adam Scott had a chance to become number 1, but couldn't get it done. Where was McIlroy, Stenson etc.?

Reed just may be one of the top 5 players in the world right now!

Patrick Reed wins the Farmers Championship at Torrey Pines, site of this year's U.S. Open, last played there in '08 when Tiger Woods outlasted Rocco Mediate's memorable effort. It's Reed's 9th PGA win, but it was marred, not by him but by CBS. In the third round, Reed hit a shot on the 10th hole that he properly thought was embedded, and then consulted a rules official who gave him the go-ahead, with no problem whatsoever. As of this tournament, CBS now has an annoying on-air rules official just like the NFL, and he confirmed that Reed played by the rules. But still, Faldo, Baker-Finch, Nobilo, Pepper, and sadly Jim Nantz were determined (or more likely directed) to turn it into a "controversy."

Reed ended up winning by four shots, which makes the non-"controversy" moot, but CBS and its company men, sadly including Nantz, just had to keep bringing it up. Reed is "controversial," but only because he's not a typical White PGA Tour robot. He not only has won The Masters, but is "Captain America" on the U.S. Ryder Cup team yet even that hasn't saved him from being persecuted by the media. Great to see Patrick win, and a big thumbs down to Nantz, Faldo and the rest of the CBS crew, who acted like well-paid hacks today and yesterday.

Rory Mcllroy did the same thing on the 18 hole Sat. In Mcllroy's case he just told his playing partner, Rory Sabbatini his ball was embedded and Sabatini didn't even look at the ball and told Mcllroy to take a drop. He did not even ask for an official just pick his ball up and dropped it. PGA Tour officials said both drops were handled properly. Both CBS and the Golf Channel are trying to ruin Reed's career for some reason. Brandel Chamblee acts like he has a personal vendetta against Reed. In the past, he has had to apologize to Tiger for accusing him of cheating. I guess it pumps up the ratings when Tiger's not playing.

All I can figure is there has to be a honky to demonize no matter how uncalled for. . . really sad stuff. Patrick has become an easy target for the hate-filled corporate media.
