Nice TwentyTwo, he completely cleared the defender, bet his vertical is one of the best if not the best among all NFL RB's!

I think I'm now at peace with Woodhead not being an every down running back. He is respected as a 3rd down player, and as a red zone target. He gets a good number of highlights, and that helps the cause, as does the fact that he's a solid fantasy player. Woodhead really is small. His more limited role will allow for a longer career, and that won't take away from the fact that he is a productive white running back, which isn't supposed to happen. He went for over 1000 total yards this year, and that was with Matthews having a great year. Hopefully, his success will help pave the way for others going forward. I don't think "3rd down back" can become a legitimate caste system position. If it does, we should welcome it.
Woodhead isn't really small. 5'7 and 3/4th or close to that at 200 pounds isn't much different than Jamaal Charles being 199 at 6'1. Actually Woodhead has the advantage because 200 is more bulk at 5'8. Warrick Dunn rushed for 10k at 5'8 180 and got around 220+ carries most seasons.

3rd down back is becoming a White position, but only Woodhead gets to consistently touch the ball. It's grunt work that doesn't get much praise.

I'd put the Chargers above the Broncos. Also, the 49ers are clearly the most anti-white team. They had 3 white starters last week plus the black quarterback. I also don't understand the hatred for the Chiefs. To me, they are exactly the same as the Colts and Bengals - 5 white starters and a few subs.
To me, the 49ers and Seahawks are 11a and 11b, both equally detestable from the QBs to the coaches. This Saturday's matchup between the Chiefs and Colts feature teams with virtually equal casteon rosters. In the "good old days" of Manning with Jim Irsay signing players, the Colts were a CF favorite, but nowadays they are just another caste NFL team. On offense, the Colts have two white starting OL, the QB and the TE, the Chefs have 1 OL, the QB, TE, and FB. Defense the Colts start exactly ZERO crackers, while the Chiefs start DeVito. A few palefaces come off of the bench, and that's it. Of course, the Chiefs have an all-time favorite CF head coach, Fat Bastard at the helm, so that might be what tips the scales towards the Colts.

Call me greedy, but my problem with San Diego is Woodhead always has to go up the middle, on running plays, for his yards, while Matthews gets the sweeps. I would like to see what Danny would do on those type of plays. He's easily a 1,000 yard back if he gets the same plays and carries as Matthews!

I say this on the few times I've been able to watch San Diego play. For someone that sees SD more than me, is this still happening with Woodhead?

Danny is rarely in the game on the early downs, unless it's a two-minute drill, and the 3rd down plays are almost always passing plays. I can tell you that with Woody in the game, the Chargers are much more formidable passing, as he is a great pass blocking-back, and Rivers favorite safety valve out of the backfield. When he is split out wide as a receiver, he is usually the first option. Sure, I would prefer that he was the main guy, but his role in the offense is equal to Mathews. He is given constant props by announcers and is a focal point for defenses trying to stop the Chargers, so based on that, he is a major caste-buster.
It would be nice to see Woody get the pitches, but Mathews has had a good year, and has been a very good back. It's not like the situation that Gerhart has in Minnesota, or even worse, what Burkhead is dealing with in Cincinnati.

Burkhead and Margus Hunt were both totally wasted by the Black Bengals. Burkhead has a real uphill fight now to ever get a whiff during a regular season game with any team, while Hunt's fate may depend on whether the team re-signs Michael Johnson or not. The defensive line is a deep position for the Bengals, reminiscent of how the few White running backs that get drafted always seem to go to teams that don't need them.

What I like about Woodhead's position is that he has played so well that he is the obvious choice to move up if Mathews is injured. And in the NFL injuries happen, especially to Mathews--at least in the past. Similar to how Gerhart solidified his possible continuation of his career with solid play as the back up and occasional number 1. You can't really ask for more. I guess stat wise this was a better year for Woodhead then when he was rotating in Bellichecks fickle RB by irrational committee.

Bottom line, Woodhead is a main cog in SD going forward. Matthews, out of nowhere had a great season. Woodhead accomplishing what he did this year was great. Now, just hoping that bungles lose with Dalton throwing a quarter dozen pics in their game.

My .02 if a caste looking team had a white cornerback I would watch them. To me it is about breaking taboos, white OLs good but not out of the norm so to say, but CB is.

Since Dalton is a red-headed white guy, I don't want to see him get the blame for the loss by the bungles. I would MUCH rather see tons of fumbles by Lawfirm and the Italian-named black RB. A few drops and fumbles by their all-affletic receiving corps would be okay, too.

I respectfully disagree. The only non-QB whites who handle the ball for the Chiefs are afterthought TE’s Anthony Fasano / Sean McGrath, and little-used FB, Anthony Sherman. Fasano has been a total non-factor who only receives 1-2 targets per game, with his highest single-game receiving total being 37 yards. Fasano’s backup, McGrath, was utilized only slightly more in the passing game (26 catches, 302 yards, TD). Their offensive line, which earlier in the season was the only in the league to start an all-black unit, now starts 1[SUP]st[/SUP] round pick Eric Fisher at RT.

Defensively, Mike DeVito is a “starter,” but he seems to come in and out of the lineup as part of a DT “rotation.” Like Derek Wolfe in the Broncos “rotation,” DeVito’s stats have suffered mightily. He had no sacks this season and 1/3[SUP]rd[/SUP] of his tackles came in a single game. Reserve OLB and former Packer, Frank Zombo, seems to be randomly jerked in and out during games, barely playing behind Hali and Houston.

In my opinion, if the Colts continue to employ Griff Whalen and Coby Fleener, they are clearly the team to support over the Chiefs.

Also, unless Woodhead was the clear-cut featured halfback, I wouldn’t favor the Chargers over the Broncos. Manning, Welker, and Decker are such key players and are always in the “limelight” due to their positions.

Forgot to say props to Jordy Nelson...yesterday's 10 reception 161 yard game is a microcosm of what could be done on a regular basis! NFL.com mentioned him as a Pro Bowl snub & blaming Rodgers injury.

Just out of curiosity scanned the Eagles 53-man roster & counted 22 whites...

Agreed...Woodhead does not get enough toss sweeps...

Brian Leonard finished with 5 carries for 35 yards(7 yd avg)...should have had more carries

Peyton Hillis had 17 carries for 56 yards...Andre Brown 13 carries for only 11 yards

It will be hard for me to support any team that features Lagarette Blount as their main RB. To say that Blount doesn't fit their offense is a huge understatement. I simply don't understand Belichick. He never gives any one RB many carries, unless they are just slow (Antwan Smith, Ridley) or a slow thug (Corey Dillon and Blount). Shane Vareen is clearly the best RB on their roster, yet he has been effectively slotted into Woodhead's old role.

Why is it that the most odious blacks imaginable-like Blount-luck into such perfect situations? Imagine what Hillis could have done in that offense, in Blount's role. And how lovable the Patriots would be. Just like Gerhart being stuck behind the only RB in the league that somehow never needs a breather, and Burkhead going to the team that would be least likely to use him, while several different black late round picks and free agents now get golden opportunities to carry the ball in the NFL. Where are the white Bobby Raineys, Edwin Bakers, etc.?

The only way a Broncos' Super Bowl victory would be a bad thing is if Manning was hurt and they brought in some unemployed black quarterback (IS there such a thing as an unemployed black quarterback?) Otherwise, I'm rooting for them to win.

I said it when he came out and when he was a rookie, Blount is a very talented runner. That doesn't mean a talented runningback since he lacks skills to pass protect and receive but as a runner he is very good and its good to see that Woodhead wasn't being screwed over simply because he was White.

He fits the offense very well, since Brady is getting older, the Patriots need more balance with the running attack. This is something Sean Payton should learn with Brees. It is good to have a big back to run in a passing type offense and wear defenses down.

Toby Gerhart has a running style very similar to Corey Dillon (who wasn't slow imo), and would do great in the Patriots offense. The Patriots can't take on every White player in the league, they have McGuffie, who could switch up from rb to the slot, might be insurance for Amendola not staying healthy.

Hillis would look good in the offense as well, he looks better catching out of the backfield than Gerhart, although both have good hands. They wouldn't need to rotate guys in and out if he had either. However, even though Bellicheck is a pretty White friendly coach, he doesn't push the limits too far.

When he had Welker, Gronk and Woodhead on offense, and no respectable outside receiver, Edelman was a healthy scratch, despite him showing he can play the position when Welker was briefly out ( although he did play db one year due to injury) which seems to be the only way to start more Whites.

I mean Bellicheck is supposed to be a defensive guru, but his d sucks. Before they were so great on offense, they had more Whites on defense and less on offense. Now its the reverse, even though there are guys that come into the rotation, he prefers slow linebackers that can't cover leaving Fletcher on the bench for most of the time. They still are one of the Whitest teams out there, so I don't see why not to root for them because of Blount. Out of all the reasons that is the most ridiculous.

as far as Rainey and Baker, we have more talented guys that never got a shot, Nate Kmic, Brock Jackolski, Chase Reynolds (on a practice squad due to coaches son playing with him), JJ DiLuigi etc. And the thing is, those last 3 could play the slot just as well.

Baker is on his 4th team with less than 200 yards rushing for his career. Rainey is on his 3rd team and will be 27 next year, less than 600 rushing career yards. Leonard should have gotten more carries but Rainey had a few "flashes", but averaged less than 3 ypc on 5 out of the 12 games, almost half, with 2 big games.

As far as the Broncos, if Welker is healthy then I wouldn't mind rooting for them to win. Two White receivers is a big deal, but if its just Decker, I dunno, I wouldn't be upset if they won but it wouldn't be as good as the Pats winning. Decker and Welker are established among dwfs as being top receivers. Edelman hasn't earned that respect despite his 1k season this year, putting up a big performance in the playoffs might change that. It would be nice to see Welker make a circus catch to win the big one though, to make up for the "drops that cost them the game". Well it would be sweeter to see it in the playoffs against the Patriots to rub it in their face.

Edelman is nice, but he is going to get the same treatment as Welker, they aren't going to pay him when the time comes and when he deserves it. They will find another White guy to fill in his role. Which isn't that bad because an established White receiver goes to another team and it gives another guy a chance.

My take on the Chiefs vs Colts comparison is that the Colts might not have many white players, but with Griff Whalen in on most obvious pass plays, the Colts offense is actually pretty good for NFL standards, with a white star QB, and a white tight end and WR. Pat Angerer would be starting but he's injured, and Werner is part of the d-line rotation it seems. The Chiefs do use their white tight ends and full back Sherman a fair amount, but on defense it seems Devito isn't that key of a player, perhaps one of those few white middling talent players who still managed to get playing time.

I will be pulling for the Colts over the Chiefs. Luck is a budding white superstar at QB. Angerer seems to be an on-agai, off-again starter for them at LB. I think I may just be a residual affinity for the Colts leftover from the Manning era. I always want to root for them. It would be an inspired move if they sign Gerhart and he becomes their premier back.

There is one factor that is pulling me toward the Chiefs over the Colts: The success of Alex Smith is a huge FU to Harbaugh and lots of DWFs. I wouldn't mind seeing the Chiefs make it further than the 49ers. I guess it would still be pretty good if they both lost in the 1st round.
