Yeah, I knew as soon as I saw Fred Jackson's run that Conte would be raked over the coals as the scapegoat for it, never mind how Jackson got through the rest of the Bears defense. White safeties have to be perfect to avoid scathing criticism. Even Eric Weddle was widely disliked for a few seasons by DWFs before he finally was given grudging respect.

Giants running game struggling vs the Lions. Perhaps they should get my boy Hillis in the game.

It's nice that barely-recruited pizza delivery boy J.J. Watt managed to slip through the caste cracks. He is a stupendous athlete and a fierce competitor, yet I'm sure that there are/have been plenty of "J.J. Watts" playing HS football over the years that were not recruited at all because of their melanin deficiency. If truly the "best players" were recruited to D1 schools, the crackas would dominate.

JJ Watt is the best defensive player in the NFL right now bar none. He can do it all. Nobody comes close.

I think Kuechly is better, but thats just me.

id take Watt in heartbeat, its so rare to have such a dominating force at 3-4 end. Of course if more White guys had a chance we might see more. We had Carriker, Devito (who is now out with a torn achilles) but Watt is the best and a drop off. I think with Kuechly we still have guys with not as much drop off.
but thats a much more interesting question for who would you take rather than the ones that have been up there, because Kuechly's coverage skills are hard to match. Although they try to knock him for his coverage (they knock every White guy for coverage) he is pretty good at it, 6 career int, one of the few linebackers that can stay with the top tight ends, he gets burnt like one or two times every few games and people act like safeties and corners never get burnt. Id put his ability to cover up there with a SS.

Anyone else getting sick of that Steeler player kicking the Browns punter in the face on purpose?

Hope Woodhead sees more action than Hillis has gotten.

The Giants were complete horse**** tonight, they had less than 200 yards on offense. They'd have only scored 7 points if not for a bull**** roughing the punter penalty. Hillis didn't get a single carry the entire game and the Giants affletic running blacks only averaged 2.4 ypc.

**** the NFL but **** the Gnats in particular.

I only need Woodhead to get me 2 points in fantasy to win this week. PPR league too. I'm gonna be seriously mad if Woody doesn't at least get that much action.

The coal black giants defense was putrid. The whole team looked bad but the DWFs don't have any whites on defense to blame them for sucking now.

I love how when a black player gets beat, but ends up catching the guy and tackling them so they can't get a TD, so they praise them.

It's just so surprising when they actually chase the guy instead of slowing to a jog and starting the finger pointing when the runner still has 30 yards to go.

I hope they havent downgraded Woodhead to a blocking back, Donald Brown already has a carry...for 2 yards. Matthews has 3 for 0. They failed to capitalize right there.

Hopefully the fantasy places were right

"The addition of Donald Brown will eat into Ryan Mathews' carries, but it shouldn't decrease Woodhead's role. Roll with Woodhead on Monday night in Arizona as a flex option in standard leagues. He's a low-end RB2 in PPR formats. "

last year he had over 100 carries and 86 targets and put up over 1,000 yards from scrimmage and 8 total tds, so technically we did have a "1,000 yard" back. Just yards from scrimmage. Not to be confused with all purpose which includes returns.

update Matthews has 5 carries for 2 yards, Brown has 2 for -2, woodhead only one doing something, at 2 for 6. Without his its 7 carries for 0 yards

man thats like the 2nd pass Matthews has caught, he has been running quite a few pass routes. Kind of messed up im hoping for him to mess up blitz protection and get Rivers killed but if thats what it takes oh well

I dont know why i stayed up to watch this, this game really sums up the inadequate play of affletes this week. Easy passes dropped, mistakes mistakes mistakes. Poor execution.

dwid, Woody got the most reps toward the end of the half. He is usually called on when it counts. But, not getting why the SD keeps a demunitive back to block linebackers and ends when they pass rush. I do not get it.

so just for the hurry up offense, but it makes no sense to not use him other times, especially tonight when they cant do jack. He is actually quite good at pass blocking, better than many bigger backs. But yeah, only in the NFL can a 5'8 200 pound 4.3 speedster be relegated to mainly blocking. They actually used him more in short yardage last year when Matthews was not effective. So short yardage/pass blocking. Rarely gets a chance to show his elite speed. He avged 4 something pc with plays that werent creative, hed be averaging a yard more and busting off big plays

as im typing they are finally going. A carry when they were hurrying things up.

This loss is on Rivers unfortunately.
I only watched the first half, since halftime is after 11 PM here, but I would pin the first half struggles on the amazing drops by the supa affletes. I counted 4 flat-out drops, and I didn't even watch the game the whole time. Eddie Royal is pathetic.

According to NFL.com Woody had 6 carries for just 5 yards, and 1 catch for 6 yards. Pretty horrible on paper. I didnt watch the game, but Ill bet Woody didnt get 1 toss sweep, quick pitch, misdirection, or counter run among those 6 measly carries. Ill bet it was all hand offs up the middle while the D was expecting run.

Im convinced that these last three seasons teams have been ordered to keep Woodys stats under control. Either that or his coaches are simply retarded, and need to get an honest job sweeping floors.

In seeing the stats, I’m happy I didn’t watch a moment of either game. Woodhead with 7 touches. Hillis with no carries or catches. Very little from Arizona’s white TE’s (Carlson and Housler).

Aside from a few bright spots from our guys (Watt, Kuechly, Edelman, Nelson, Decker, Cassell, Harrisson Smith) and a few poor performances from blacks (RGIII, Manual, dozens of black defenders, etc), this week has been a snooze-fest for both black and white players.

But hey, at least the video of Ray Rice administering a sucker-punch to his drunken Negress was finally released (and so was he, haha)…

Well, they were in FG range and then Rivers fumbled a clean snap.

I'd add in two defensive players who flew under the radar this week, even here at Caste Football.

Future hall of famer, Justin Smith, just continues to be unstoppable, even at his advanced football age. He had six tackles and 2 sacks that went for a combined 20 lost yards. What a great performance against Dallas, who most would agree, have a pretty good offensive line.

The other White man who performed admirably and to little fanfare was Paul Kruger. After his lousy first season in Cleveland, I can see how he was easily forgotten. He needed a big game and he did not disappoint. 5 tackles and 2 sacks for 17 yards lost. Kruger is getting paid to rush the quarterback so it's nice to see 2 sacks after a disappointing 4.5 last year. His career high is 9 in 2012 when he only played 15 games and rotated in and out. Let's hope he smashes that total and establishes himself as a top flight 3-4 OLB.

Poz - 12 tackles
Worrilow - 15 tackles
Burris - 13 tackles
Conte - 7 tackles and an INT

I was also impressed with Ryan, Stafford, and Palmer. Ryan is no real surprise, as he's been great for a while, but I think Stafford will turn the corner this year and get in the elite conversation. Palmer looks like he's back into top 10 form, and Roethlisberger is a flat out Beast.

Not a terrible week 1, but next week I hope to see more receving threats - Witten, Cameron, Cooper, etc..

It shouldn't be a surprise to me anymore, since it has been this way virtually his entire career, but it never ceases to stun me how Danny Woodhead spends 90% of his snaps either pass blocking or running right up the gut. Why you would take a 5'8" speedster and give him a powerback package is beyond me.

It really is the curse of the honky. The ability and the willingness to be a team player and to learn to effectively pass-block and to sacrifice body and stats for the short yardage play means white backs will always get the worst possible packages, leaving their fresh-legged competition the primo first and second down sweep plays. Is that the only option they have for remaining on an NFL roster? That's another discussion I reckon.

I only needed Woodhead to get me 2.5 points in fantasy. He got me 2.9. Only reason I won is because he was credited with tackle. I don't really care about FF, but it's an absolute crime that this man's prime has been spent doing the unappreciated job that his "explosive" teammates have always been incapable of doing.

Some good news this week, CFers don't really care about Ray Rice and his escapades, NFL ratings are down and the Atlanta Hawks cannot get whites to go to their games. Sports treat whites like crap I say its time that whites crap on sports. Love sports, hate the PC.

was that entirely on RIvers? I thought it was a bad snap because fo the back up center being in for Hardwick but i wasn't watching too closely. Pretty sad that the qb has to be mistake free to win the game because of all the other affletes making mistakes, poor route running and dropped passes (floyd had big catch and had wide open space to the endzone but tripped and fell catching it when it was on the money, no reason to lose balance). Gates had a few easy ones just dropped. Allen could have saved a drive when the ball bounced to him and it popped right out of his hands.
I think dwfs need to start asking themselves "is this really the best product the NFL can put out?" maybe then more will see the light because that was an awful weekend of football.
I think even with up the gut runs Woodhead wouldve broken off bigger chunks than Mathews eventually, Mathews td run of 20 yards came when the d was all sucked close to the line for short yardage, he was lined up closer to the line for the handoff, a hole opened up and he was able to get through it quicker lined up like that at the fb spot with Donald Brown faking to the outside. They never run White fbs like that. I think Jacob Hester had some nice rushing like that in garbage time once, although it depends on how quickly the line can open a hole and how the defense plays it, if it doesnt set up right its hard to get a big play.
