I'm still fairly new to the board so I don't know how you cover the tournament, but for now until a mod says that we should restrict them all to 1 thread then I think a round by round thread would be alright.. or at least an opening weekend one with all the chaos that happens with those upsets! Well last night the tourny started out well for the whiter teams as Monmouth took it to Hampton pretty bad... Monmouth started 4 whites while Hampton had 0 on the entire team and much was made of their all black band.. Monmouth shot pretty well and while I'm not predicting any sort of upset of Nova, I don't think this is a team that gets beat by 40 in the first round. I can't wait until Thursday to see how things pan out!

Monmouth might give Nova a scare if they shoot like they did last night. I also predict a upset of Georgetown by Northern Iowa.

Wichita State beat Seton Hall in the first game of the tourny.. a good start against the system since I believe Wichita St. starts 3 whites, but maybe 2 someone can clarify I didn't see the beginning of the game.. while Seton Hall starts a whoppping 0! Pacific (3 whites) goin into OT with BC... I love the first round!

Christian Morraker had 30 pts. in a near double overtime upset of Boston College by Pacific. They should have finished them off in the first overtime. Tough one.

That was a good game. I would have loved to see Pacific win.

Yeah definitely a tough one. Sadly I'm now getting the Tennessee-Winthrop (good game) but I'd rather be watching Montana-Nevada.. oh well gotta deal with what you got. So far most games have been competitive except Wichita State who handed it to Seton Hall... can't wait for the Zags and Duke to play tonight...

Montana had three whites in their starting lineup and looked very impressive in defeating Nevada and neutralizing Nick Fazekas. I would love for a state like Montana which doesn't get alot of attention to get to the Sweet 16. I was disappointed that Winthrop couldn't pull of the upset over Tennesee. I had winthrop picked in a few of the many contests I have entered to pull that one of. Oh well... I got the UW-Milwaukee vs. Oklahoma game right.

it's been a good NCAA tournament so far for the white guys. Christian Maraker had 30 points and 9 rebounds in the best game of the tourney so far (sadly in a losing cause), Fazekas' Nevada team lost (although i won't complain since the Grizzlies play more white guys) but he acquitted himself well: 24 points, 12 boards, and 3 blocks (pretty good day despite as Aragorn rightly said Montana did a good job against him).

Wichita State's Paul Miller led his team to the big win over Seton Hall. keep up the good work fellas!

What a huge game for Morrison. It sounds like a broken record when I say that but that is why he lead the nation in scoring!Go Gonzaga.

he is AMAZING!!!! what a game, but the Zags survive despite being in devastating foul trouble throughout the entire second half. their leader really stepped up to carry his team.

i'm seeing a really good player that i've never watched before in the Air Force-Illinois game. Air Force junior forward Jacob Burtschi is all over the floor. he was the Falcons' leading rebounder and 2nd leading scorer during the season at just over 6 and 12 per and led the MWC with 69 steals. he's fun to watch, and he just outran Dee Brown (who is arguably the fastest player in Division 1) the length of the court off a steal for a lay-up. impressive!

Jimmy C..I am glad you said Burtschi outran Brown and didn't say outhustled.. there is a difference if you get my drift! Hustling is effort..outrunning is talent and athleticism.

Aragorn, in the words of great white baller Bill Walton, "Never confuse effort with achievement." ha!

speaking of athleticism, Duke's McRoberts just threw down a nasty dunk. the sky is the limit for that guy, lterally!

Jimmy C..that may be the smartest thing that Walton ever said..which is not saying much

. I am going a little crazy switching between the Duke game and the USA-Mexico baseball game on ESPN. It seems like there are just as many Mexican fans as Americans at the game.

One of the announcers even mentioned how athletic Burtschi was... a white player.. athletic? I bet that announcer will be fired at the end of the day....

i picked that upset. McNamara could only carry the Orange on his own for so long.

Davidson is giving Ohio State fits right now, and are up on them by 4 at halftime. Davidson starts 4 whites all the time, and started 5 whites for at least 9 games this year. If they win, this will be a huge upset and a blow against the Caste System. I can't believe we haven't been following this team before now. Actually, Davidson is playing 5 whites right now!Edited by: Colonel_Reb

With Iowa and Syracuse bowing out. Those tough conference tournaments in the Big 10 and Big East may have done as much harm as good. We still have plenty of teams to pull for and at least West Virginia won't have to play Iowa in the second round if they get past Souther Illinois.

I am partly relieved that West Virginia won't have to play Iowa. That should hopefully make the road easier for them until the sweet 16. March Madness is so unpredictable though.

I know there is a long way to go but as Dick Enberg would say OH MY! #16 Albany is leading #1 UConn 40-33 with about 15 minutes left.I know it's not likely to hold but I am sure hoping. Albany plays at least three whites with regular playing time and I think those three are starters....now it's a 10 point lead with 14 minutes left OH MY!!!!

It was just a tease. UConn up by 11 with under a minute to go.. Crap! Gotta love March Madness.
