It is probably too early to put up a 2018/2019 draft forum under the NBA threads but 2018 could turn out to be a decent draft with players like Luka Doncic a shooting guard out of Slovenia who some scouts hate and others love. Other projected first round picks for 2018 at this very early stage include Grayson Allen, Killiam Tillie from Gonzaga and Rodions Kurucs. If Kulbolka could settle his game down he could emerge as a first rounder.
The 2019 draft looks barren compared to the more recent drafts. However and I think JL mentioned him, Croat Luka Samanic put on a show at a recent Euro tournament and look for him in the lottery. An outstanding athlete who is a 6'10" PF he looks to be the key figure in 2019. The only other first round name to pop up at this point is SF Dzanan Musa who like Doncic gets mixed reviews. Even I was surprised to see the following names pop up as second round picks. Two big men that didn't surprise me were Ethan Happ who clearly needs to expand his game and shooting touch and Drew Eubanks who reminds me of Mason Plumlee.
But it was nice to see two SG's make the list. Hyper athletic Rex Pflueger who needs to make the big jump this season and sharp shooter Kyle Guy who is not a bad athlete by any stretch.
I know it is way too early but for the four college players listed in the 2019 draft it is essential they improve and build on their games to strike it big in two years.

Great thread, Shadowlight!! I'm sure this'll be a good thread once the season gets around and we're able to better evaluate college players.

I have a feeling Kansas will be must watch basketball with Svi Mykailiuk this year. I hope I'm right. I think Self is trying to get him to be "the man" this year and be one of the Jayhawks' primary scorers.

Tillie will be another great player to watch. I'm sure there'll be surprises as the season starts.

The 2020 and 2021 drafts should be great for us with all of the Top talent in 2018 and 2019. Guys like Tyler Herro, Matt Hurt, Joey Baker, Balsa Koprivica, Saminic (as you mentioned), Matt Van Koman, Joe Wieskamp (a 2018 Iowa commit) Joey Hauser, Rylan Jones, and Matt Mayer, off the top of my head, should all have chances to get drafted, provided they improve and live up to their billing.

Yes JL Svi Mykailiuk is listed for now as a second round pick for the next draft. It is essentially a two tier process. For guys to make the list in the first place clears a major hurdle and that would include players like Kyle Guy and Tillie. The next final and clinching hurdle is for these players to perform well. That is a big step. Yet if a player like Pflueger comes through in flying colors his chances of getting drafted are pretty darn good. Once a player's name starts circulating around and the athlete plays well then he should be golden.
