My pick is Debbie Antonelli who does the women's games. She is so blatant about drawing athletic distinctions between white and black players it would be comical if it wasn't such an ugly sentiment. This gal is the pits. She oohs and ahhs and goes on and on about black players and their superb athleticism and speed and hops and blah blah blah shut the hell up lady. White players "hustle and some have size and heart and team spiit and can shoot the rock a bit." But a white girl with athletic abiltity? According to this jack ass of a women that concept does not compute. Remember the name Antonelli. These type of announcers have to be weeded out. Meanwhile the ESPN head honchos sit back and enjoy the show. When are these people going to be held accountable for this crap?

Hard to figure why this is true Sunshine. I do not watch many women's basketball games but you would figure with all the great white players in college and pro, past and present that she wouldn't have such thoughts or make such comments. I have always thought it was men affected by the caste system and not really women for the most part. Maybe I will have to rethink that.

For years, hearing Dick Vitale's voice for even a split second was my cue to change channels. But he doesn't seem to be quite the Caste System shill these days. He's fair toward Morrison, Redick and other good white players. His voice will always be irritating, but it's part of his shtick.

I've noticed that change in Vitale also. He is a basketball junkie, so maybe the 2004 olympics, Nash, Nowitzki, Redick, and Morrison have changed his perception about race and basketball. That's the kind of thing we're hoping for. It's starting to sink in with more and more people, at least with the ones who pay attention.

Janelle Bekkering, who is Henry Bekkerings younger sister is 5'11 and can dunk. She has amazing athleticism, and she'll be playing for Gonzaga next year

I must say that I agree with the comments about Dick Vitale -- he truly has a "love for the game," and I think he appreciates players who play well, whatever their stripe.

Someone once asked Vitale what he considered to be the biggest problem with college basketball, and his answer surprised me. Dickie V said that far too many college basketball players didn't want to be in college, didn't deserve to be in college, and that too many players saw college basketball as merely a stepping stone to the NBA. He might as well have said "too many uneducated blacks," because that is exectly what he seems to have been describing.

As for the most annoying announcer, my vote is for Doug "I-sure-as-hell-ain't-Scottish" GOTTLIEB. I heard this honking idiot on ESPN radio, and he was gushing over every black "playa" still in the tournament with a pseudo-sexual frenzy. In other words, he was being a typical jewish sportscaster. Gottlieb and ESPN go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Janelle Bekkering..a 5-11 white girl who can dunk. Amazing! I hope she gets half the publicity that lady Parker got the other day for her tippy toes dunk that was nice but not rim shattering.

I still don't buy into Vitale's act. Yes he has praised Morrison and Redick but he also downgrades the athleticism. He has constantly referred to Redick's "lack of athleticism" over the year. That spoils it for me.While it is true Vitale can get excited by white players tellingly it is almost never about their raw athleticsm.

Len Elmore Len Elmore Len Elmore Len Elmore Len Elmore Len Elmore. If you don't know he is, he was the color commentator for the Gonzaga game last night. That's all I really need to say. He is THE worst.

i watched the Duke-LSU game last night on the DVR, and noticed that the two announcers were both atrocious! Dick Enberg and Jay Bilas (a duke alum) were sucking on Tiger meat like their jocks were made from cotton candy.

after reaching 25, i lost track of how many times they mentioned "athletic" in regards to LSU, but interestingly noted that they only used the word in reference to Duke players once. just one time.

not after McRoberts dunked on back-to-back alley oops, not when McRoberts fed the ball to magnum rolle on the sideline, and not when shelden williams blocked garrett temple into the backboard, leaving him lying on the floor holding a cramping calf.

nope the only athletic play made by a Dookie all game came on a McRoberts rebound attempt. that's pretty one-sided commentary right there.

however i did get a very thorough rendering of Roget's thesaurus with regard to "athletic" synonyms. phenomenal, high-rising, aerial assault, quick, sensational, explosive, amazing, and so on, and so on. jeez!

before i finish this post, i want to add that Duke allowed LSU to out-physical them. as a player, you have to see what style of play the refs are allowing and adjust. and, hey, if the afaleetes are gonna get rough, then there are plenty of elbows and knees on my team, too. you just have to bring it a little bit harder than they do if you want to win. Duke kept looking to the refs to help 'em, and that is NEVER where to find salvation.

I agree that Duke allowed LSU to out muscle them and that they looked to the refs for some calls that they deserved and did not get ...Duke should have escalated their game and played rougher. No team should ever depend on the refs for anything, especially with the pervasive disease of political correctness, which has as one of its main symptoms the favoring of black athletes and to which refs are not immune.

"Whenever boldness encounters timidity, it is likely to be the winner, because timidity itself implies a loss of equilibrium. Boldness will be at a disadvantage only in an encounter with deliberate caution, which may be considered bold in its own right and is certainly just as powerful and effective; but such cases are rare."

Clausewitz, On War

Why did Duke (teams skews white) look to the refs for calls? I think it's because most whites believe in order over chaos, honor over dishonor, fair play over foul play and have some minimal, basic respect for legitimate authority. Many blacks don't believe in or have any of these things, which can be an advantage...until whites "wise up" which is definitely happening. Smart players learn from their mistakes. I believe that Duke will know better next time.
