A few weeks ago, Colonel Reb posted that he wanted to see some Marciano and Dempsey fights. As it happened, many Rocky Marciano fights are on ESPN Classic this month. So, for Colonel Reb and others who are interested, I have been posting when these fight films are being shown.

The two Marciano-Ezzard Charles fights are on ESPN Classic at 6pm ET, Monday and Tuesday. Rocky considered Charles his toughest opponent. The two Dempsey-Tunney fights are being shown on ESPN Classic August 4. Jack Dempsey's Greatest Hits Vol I is on August 17.

Both Louis-Schmeling fights are on ESPN Classic August 2 at 10:30 ET. You should see any fights of Joe Louis as well.

Thanks for the info again sport historian. I am glad they are showing these fights, I just wish they would stop the blackfests like "Clay weekend" a while back. Makes me sick.

ESPN Classic seems to show "The Fights and Times Of Muhammad Ali" twice every month. However, they do give you a chance to see fights you have heard about but haven't been able to see. Next month, they will have Marciano-Walcott I (August 7) and Marciano-Moore (August 14). Plus, the ones I mentioned in my previous post.

Yeah, you are right about getting to see ones you've never heard of. Like the Wepner fight. I had never watched all of it until a couple months ago. I'm gonna get as much of Marciano as I can during this next month because I won't have ESPN Classic in the dorms!

Yeah, I saw that one Reb. The disgusting part is grown white or Jewish men worshipin Cassius like a dog who's found it's master. And they should have let Sonny Liston bumrush and beat the devil out of Clay for invading his gym like that. A buddy of mine, watching Ali's early fights, couldn't understand why the audience was booing his antics...things are SOOOO different and degraded today, as compared to how fighters talked about each other (On t.v. at least!) before that time.

Yeah, he changed it for the worse, and people in power let him. He will never be "the greatest" in my book, just an "also ran" with a big mouth.

Sorry, I'm late with this information. ESPN Classic is showing Rocky Marciano's Greatest Hits Vol. 1 at 6pm ET today July 26.

To be honest ESPN has gotten a little carried away with showing Ali fights. There are only so much times you can see Ali vs Foreman or Ali vs Frazier.

Fits, I have to agree with you for once there. Clay repeats have to be getting worse and worse ratings as the months go by. But I think the agenda behind the repeats are to further engrain him as the greatest, which is nothing but horsefeathers. So they will probably show it even more.

The ESPN Sportcentury show on Jack Dempsey is being shown on Thursday August 11 at 4pm ET. It's well worth watching or taping if you haven't seen it.
