The Bears have released Muhsin Muhammad. I'm sure most of the drunk white fans are shocked, believing their heroes can play till they're 40.

Don't know if this will help Hass's cause at all with Chicago though. Not being activated for a single game in '07 indicates that Lovie Smith is going to give him the Brock Forsey treatment before the '08 regular season. They'll probably sign a couple of black journeymen at WR and all will be well again.

I don't trust Lovie Smith. He stockpiles good white players on the practice squad and gives them a life sentence.

I found this News on the Brett Favre, sorry I mean NFL, Web site...

AKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Chicago Bears signed free agent wide receiver Marty Booker on Tuesday for a second stint with the club in an effort to help replenish a depleted receiving corps. <div style="border: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 5px; padding: 10px; font-size: 11px; font-family: arial; float: right; width: 200px;">

Marty Booker, WR

2007 Statistics
Rec: 50
Yards: 556
Avg.: 11.1
TD: 1</div>

Booker, who was the Miami Dolphins' leading receiver last season, signed a two-year deal with Chicago. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The Bears had already lost their top two leading wide receivers since the start of free agency. Bernard Berrian signed a six-year, $42 million free agent contract with the the Minnesota Vikings last week. The Bears also cut veteran wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad with three years left on his contract.Yes that's not a misprint
50 receptions 11 yard average, one touchdown. I think I could do that if I started every game. Matt Jones almost managed that spending 80% of the time watching the game from a bench.

I just read the chillingly accurate post by Don above
One signed and one to go.

Wow, Marty Booker, are you serious? Still, even with Hester (who's a terrible WR) and Booker (typical black retread), Hass might still get some decent playing time eventually this season.

Isnt it insane that we actually have to HOPE that Mike Hass will get playing time in an offense with this terrible of a WR corps (even before all the offseason cuts)?

Lovie Smith is once again proving what a little caste-worm he truely is...

As of Today, I'd say the Bears WR Depth Chart would look something like this.

Starters: Bradley &amp; Booker

3rd WR:Rashied Davis (currently a restricted free agent)

4th WR: Devin Hester

5th WR: Mike Hass

If they don't draft or sign any more WR's, then Hass has a fighting chance to move all the up to #1, assuming they actually allow him to compete.

That's as pathetic a group of "top four" receivers as I've ever seen on an NFL team. Take Hass and add Chase Lyman, Aaron Hosack and Chris Horn (all four cut by the Saintsover the last two seasons) to the Bears and let 'em loose and the upgrade would be huge.

They will probably grab a WR in the draft.

Hass may at least be in the mix according to this article. It's an ideal situation for him if he's given an opportunity:
So much for WR Johnson
<DIV =entry-content>
<DIV =entry->

In the end, Bryant Johnson probably never found what he was looking for in free agency.

That's the best explanation for why the wide receiver has reportedly agreed to a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers, who have rebuilt their outside targets for young quarterback Alex Smith.

The Bears had some interest in Johnson, but it's apparent that no one stepped forward with the longterm commitment he was seeking. So he goes to the Niners on a one-year deal and hopes that a strong season no longer playing in the shadow of Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin in Arizona will propel him to more success in free agency.
<DIV =entry-more id=more>

Johnson is a big target at 6-3, the kind the Bears could use. But more pressing is the team's need for a true No. 1 receiver. That need will have to come in the draft or go unfulfilled for another season. That is unless Devin Hester makes more progress than anyone is realistically expecting.

As the depth chart stands now, Marty Booker will be a sure starter. After that, the Bears are hoping someone develops from the crowd of Hester, Mark Bradley, Brandon Lloyd, Brandon Rideau, Mike Hass and Rashied Davis, assuming the restricted free agent eventually signs his one-year tender.

I don't see how Booker is a "sure starter", I'd say at this point he is certainly on the downside of a journeyman career. If the Bears had any sense, they would start Hass as the Split End and let Hester move around as the Flanker. Of course that assumes that Hester can consistently catch the ball.

Calling a guy like Marty Booker a "journeyman" would be a compliment. Why in the world would Chicago want this bum back? He sucked each and every year with the Bears, despite being handed a starting job with every new season.

As for Brandon Lloyd...haha, I'm not sure he'll even make the team (then again, this is Lovie we're talking about). In all honestly, even if Lloyd were a white WR, I'd still tell people he sucked (because it's true). He accomplished less than nothing as a Redskin, and is just taking up NFL roster space for white (and black, actually) WRs.

The drunken white fans will get fed up with these loser WRs in time...and maybe the Mike Hass show will take the NFL by storm soon enough.

Prediction: With the Bears offense in turmoil during mid-season, with dropped passes by underachieving wideouts galore (Bradley injured again, Journeyman Lloyd and Booker failing and the Hester experiment not working as well as planned) Lovie Smith will begin to feel some heat from the GM and fans to try out Mike Hass. The "drunkin idiot" fans will think back to "yet again" another spectacular pre-season by Hass and wonder; who is this guy? and find out he was a prestigious Biletnikof award winner and wonder why he isn't playing.

Is Lovie's hatred of the white skill player so great that he will piss off fans and the GM just to make Hass rot on the bench? Will he play the team manager? (Even "Black Power" "Football's"Dark"Future.com last year had some Bears posters mentioning their longing for Hass).

Prediction: I think Lovie will play Hass when it comes down to him saving face. Remember the GM at the end of last season already mentioned he was surprised that Hass didn't see the field with the Bears eliminated from the Playoffs. Hass will get some playing time by mid-season!

Hass might get to be the white mascot receiver on the Bears. They had one a few years back. You know the type of guy, like Brian Finnegan, an "overacheiver" with no athletic skills that somehow manages to make important catches. It's a little tougher to put Hass in that position because he was a big award winner, but since he's white any success he has will be considered a fluke.

Anyone remember the last Bears white mascot receiver? I can't recall his name but I know we talked about him before here.

I think the Lions had one at the same time, Jeff Chadwick, out of Grand Valley State, if he'd a been black, with his production, he would've been made a starter and become a star, but being white all he could be was a "fan favorite".

They signed Eddie Berlin (former Titans WR) a couple years back. However, their joke of a WR corps, along with his injuries, kept his career in Chicago (and the NFL) quite short.

Chadwick was an excellent receiver indeed. Great size, speed, hands, the works. The only year he was close to being a starter was 1986, and he responded with 53 receptions for 995 yards (18.8 ypc) and 5 TD. His "reward" was the almost mandatory demotion white receivers get for being too uppity -- he never had more than 30 catches again in his career.

i couldn't help but laugh when i saw that on rotoworld.com:

"Mark Bradley believes he'll be the Bears' "go-to receiver" in 2008.

"I'm that confident that I'm the No. 1 guy," he said. "I've just had some injuries and some minor setbacks. I'm recovered and ready to be that guy." Bradley's main competition to start figures to come from Brandon Lloyd and Devin Hester. Marty Booker is probably locked in at the other wideout spot."

so this guy thinks he has what it takes, while so many white receivers, Welker, Curtis, Urban had to pay their dues big time just to get to slot/2nd receiver in this league...

here are "No.1 receiver"'s numbers:

2005 CHI 7 games, 18 catches, 230 yards, 32.9 per game, 12.8 per catch, 0 TDs
2006 CHI 10 14 282 28.2 per game, 20.1, 3 TDs
2007 CHI 15 6 71 4.7 per game, 11.8, 1 TD

Mark Bradley exemplifies the huge obstacles we would have to overcome in order to dismantle the Caste System. Here we have a total bust (who, of course, is not labeled that, unlike Matt Jones, by the jock-sniffing media) who is so irrationally full of "self-esteem" that he has the audacity to publicly claim he's a #1 receiver. Compare this to Joe Jurevicious-who has been far more productive than Bradley will ever be-recently requesting that the Browns move him out of the starting lineup. Could the situation be defined any clearer?

Then you have the coach of the Bears, apparently with the blessings of management, continuing to let a dominant college WR like Mike Hass waste away on the practice squad, when the Bears have perhaps the worst receiving "talent" ever assembled by an NFL team still inexplicably in front of him on the depth chart. If someone with the college pedigree of Mike Hass cannot be given even a chance to start for a team with a group of receivers as awful as the ones on the Bears, then what chance does any white WR have in this league?

I hope he at least gets a fair shot but that's probably wishful thinking. They haven't drafted a WR yet so maybe he has a smalling opening. I see they picked up a LT today. I guess he's Black. What happened to all the White linemen? Even historically all White positions are being usurped. I'm at the point where I don't even care to watch the sport.

"Left Tackle" has definitely moved in the direction of being a "black position."

It's not uncommon for College programs like Nebraska and Iowa to start 4 White O-linemen and the "mandatory" black LT. Nothing to see here folks.... move along.
