Mike Furrey is a Top 20 WR

In case anyone has noticed Detroit WR Mike Furrey is now on pace for a 1,000 yard season this year, the only white player on pace for that milestone. He's also on pace for a pretty good 82 catches. He's now ranked in the top 25 by all of yahoo.com's fantasy NFL guys. He's finally getting some recognition for a pretty good season. All of this coming from a guy who was playing denfense last year. Folks if this was a black player accomplishing this incredible feat of switching from a starting safety with 5 INTS then next season going over to the offensive side of the ball and succeding it would be a big media story. However since white players are viewed with negative connotations when it comes to athleticism their feats are completly ignored. It's a shame a guy with an obviously high amount of athletic ability and a darn good football player always gets overshadowed.

don't mean to quibble, but he was a WR in the AFL and St. Louis before making the switch to safety, so if anything, he should have been praised LAST year for his versatility. he's a fantastic route runner with superb hands, it's great to see him kicking ass, too bad most white wr's don't get a chance to really showcase their skills until they're in their late twenties. furrey rules, go lions.
