Good point SteveB, and I think you are probably right. I think of the SEC and how it has changed to be a place where white QB's are the minority now. The SEC championship game will probably always have at least 1 black in it now. That happened over quite a period of time too. I'm just afraid it could happen that way in the NFL. I hope I'm wrong.

Cris Carter wrote this inane quarterback comparison analyzingthe coming Atlanta vs. Minnesota game.In his effort to elevate Vick to the same level as Brady he gives the impression both are winners despite not compiling great statistics. It's true Vick's stats stink but Tom's certainly do not. What a maroon! Just another mis-leading puff piece on Vick.

It's DaunteCulpepper vs.Michael VickI don't think you can say which franchise quarterback is better because both of them can be great in the right system.

Even though Vick isn't putting up big passing numbers in the West Coast offense, I still love what he is doing in Atlanta because I don't have the same expectations for him as I do for Culpepper in the Vikings offense. I look at Vick the same way I look at Tom Brady- what matters most is getting the win, not compiling great statistics.

If it wasn't for the two white bookends( defensive ends), Blacklanta
and Micheal the archangle Vick would not be in half their games.

I think Vick has to be one of the least accurate QB's in football today. He IS very athletic; I love watching him scrable around like a jackrabbit, but I don't think he will ever be accurate enough to lead the Falcons to a superbowl.

I think he should have been converted to WR ala Randle El, Hines Ward, Drew Bennet etc. A cannon arm doesn't maketh a quaterback

he only got to the NFC championship because the NFC is weak.

this kind of problem comes up all the time in football, baseball, and basketball. they really need to drop conferences so the playoffs can be seeded.

Vick just left todays game with knee injury. Matt Schaub is now in. Look for finneran to have a big game now. OOpps, finneran just caught a pass for about 20 yards as I am writing this. And Dunn scores o [IMG] n the next play. Wow, they sure do miss Ron Mexico. [IMG]

Vick has really started to rack up a list of lower leg injuries hasn't
he. Knee, shin, ankle..he was hurt in college too
wasn't he. Those kinds of injuries don't really go away.

One more thing. How about that Daunte Culpepper! Lookin
good ace! At the end of the third quarter of todays game with
Atlanta you had 99yds, 1 pick and 2 fumbles.

    Can you say.... EXPOSED?

schaub is a potential starter in 1 or 2 years. but he'll have to get traded.

fumblepepper is average without moss. he should sit the rest of this game.

Update on Fumblepepper- 2 fumbles 2 interceptions 9 sacks and 1 TD (which was basically given to him by Atlanta with the score 30-3 with 2 minutes left in the game. ) I started to wonder during this game-if a QB gets sacked does that affect his rating? Culpepper refuses to throw the ball away and takes sacks, thus his completion percentage looks really good and enhances his QB rating. Do you think somebody would intentionally do this?

I think throwing 10 INT in four games will make you hold onto the ball instead of throwing it away, not padding stats. [IMG]

KJV1,from what I've read, fumbles and sacks are not used to calculate QB ratings. If this is, so a better system should be developed. Culpepper, Mc Nabb and Vick fumble often and take more sacks than people suppose. So, in todays gameDauntefumbled twice (?) was sacked nine times and it was not reflected in his rating? This is a stupid system.

I read a column about the Packersbeing dead last in the league according to Wonderlic test scores. No surprise to me, but what caught my attention was this line about Michael Vick.

Michael Vick of Atlanta may be the best player in the league, but his 20 score is low for a quarterback.

Okay, we know he's over-hyped but ....the best player in the league?!

And dead last in the Central division, behind such powerhouses as the Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, and Minnesota Vikings?

Mike Vick 6/8 49 yds passing, 1 TD 0 INT
Matt Schaub 5/14 39 yds passing, 0 TD 0 INT

Mike Vick 4 rushes 58 yds
Matt Schaub 4 rushes 56 yds

One is the poster child for the NFL, the other a scrub backup. Guess which one is which.

Vick vs. Culpepper = the Blind vs. the Lost. Both were lousy, but in different ways.

Vick was merely a non-issue, while Culpepper was so bad as to cost his
team the day. And still, all I'm hearing out of the
sports-talk-radio crowd is how awful Harrington and Losman are.
Granted, Harrington and Losman are poor QBs, but how can the
finger-pointing miss the gold-plated, $100 mil "Great Black Hopes"?

Vick got a 20 on the Wonderlic? I doubt it was even that high.

Here's a little-known tidbit about St. Michael --- Q: What was His GPA
in academinc classes during his last year at VT? A: 0.00.
Yes, you read that right. Zero point zero. Vick's lack of
intelligence is crippling. When Vick broke into the league, the
Falcons "simplified" the playbook, presumably until St. Michael got
acclimated to the pro game. Now, 4 years later, the Falcons STILL
don't trust him with the entire set.

The rumor is that second-year backup Matt Schaub has more offensive
sets from which to work, because Schaub is bright fella -- a UVa
    man.

Bottom line --- Vick is an "aff-lete", not a quarterback, and up until
now he has been able to hide his flaws by using his athleticism.
But father time (and nagging injuries) are catching up with St.
Michael, and now he is one hard tackle away from losing his speed-edge
(which is all he has going for him).

Note: St. Michael is again questionable for next week's game due
to a knee injury. Falcons fans have come to expect this from St.
Vick, who seems to be one of the biggest candy-asses in the history
    of professional football.

It's looking more and more like Marcus Vick is an irredeemable screwup. During Virginia Tech's game at West Virginia Saturday, Vick gave the bird to the home fans, elbowed a WVU coach along the sideline, and tossed a football in the face of a WVU player. He has to learn to be more discreet, like Ron Mexico!

I hope Vick a while and Schaub takes over at QB. It would be great to see a qb controversy like the one in New England between Bledsoe and Brady, Maybe Schaub will take Atlanta to the super bowl.

Vick makes me sick.He is quite simply a bust when it comes to being a qb.He just signed a long term contract and the Falcons are stuck with him regardless. We will have to put up with him whether we like it or not.I just don't see his body holding up.You can't run in the NFL like you do in college. They will punish him and shorten his career. The Falcons asked for this, they deserve it!

Vick has a little bitty head. Not much brain in there. People with small skulls (in relation to their body size) usually aren't very smart. It's not his fault. He's just not blessed with that natural "talent". Many on this site have pointed out the way the word "athletic" is used. The word "talent" is used in the same incorrect anti-white fashion. Ex. That inner city high school has a lot of talent, they're just not very well coached. People always blame the teacher.

I happend to catch ESPNs coverage of the currently Matt Schaub led Falcons. Schaub managed to take an average NFC team and *almost* upset an Elite AFC team in the defending champion Patriots.

    Final Score Patriots win 31-28.

What did ESPN show on the televitz? Vick on the sideline in a grey sweatshirt!!. Hey how about giving the QB who ACTUALLY PLAYED and almost pulled off a major upset a close up! Would it be so hard to at least let Schaub have a 10 second sound bite where he could thank his team-mates or give some other sports cliche??

One does have to hand it to Vick though, at least he didn't walk off the sideline early like Randy Moss did last year!

How dare you disparage Super Vick. He supported his team by
wearing his hat sideways on the sidelines while looking like a sterno
bum! If it was not for the current state of affairs in the NFL,
Super Vick would be pimping $20.00 freaks in Macon Georgia.

Not only is Vick a moron (literally) and a lousy QB, he's also one of the most GHETTO thugs I've ever seen...and that's saying a lot, given the type of player we see in the NFL.

I can't remember the last time I saw him in ANY photograph or televised press conference where he hasn't been wearing his usual costume, i.e. cornrows, covered by a stocking cap, then all topped with a three-sizes-too-big hat or visor. T.H.U.G. It seems as though the Falcons (and the NFL in general) are promoting Vick as the "Iverson" of the NFL.

Matt Schaub played well yesterday, and I believe that he completed a few throws that Slingshot Vick could never dream of completing. All things considered, Schaub is not in a bad position -- he sits immediately behind one of the most injury-prone (and "pussified") players in the league. Vick is guaranteed to be injured at least twice more this season.
