Thanks for posting that, White Lightning. I took my post down when I realized the url I listed was wrong.

That video is truly inspiring to watch. It's the same thing the Caste System scouts, draft "gurus" and journalists watched, but after watching footage like that most of them decided Jones should be not a quarterback in the NFL, not a running quarterback, not a running back, not a wide receiver, but instead a tight end! What a pathetic bunch of

All of his runs are all better than Vince Young's. Jones is a much better athlete than Young.

If you guys scroll down a little on youtube.com another few hilite reels of Matt Jones are on there.One is a 6 minute one with alot of nfl game footage added on.He will be a true superstar for years to come as long as they don't forget the key factory.Throw him the ball and don't forget about him which seems to happen alot in this league.Look at Stokley last season.

I think I figured out why Saban seems to love black players so much..he is afraid of Matt Jones and what a white guy can do when given a chance to excel. I bet Saban still has nightmares about Matt Jones

After watching the video I was curious to see how Jones compared to the most exciting players in the NFL and NCAA caste leagues:

College Career statistics:

Matt Jones: 417 completions -755 attempts (55.2%) - 5,857 yards: 53 TDs, 30 Int; Rushing: 382 - 2,535 yards (6.6 avg): 24 TDs --> 18th pick, 6-6 234 pounds

Michael Vick:177 completions - 313 attempts (56.5%) - 3074 yards: 20 TDs, ?? Int; Rushing: 212 - 1192 yards (5.6 avg): 8 TDs --> 1st pick overall; 6-0 215 pounds

Vince Young: 444 completions - 718 attempts (61.8%) - 6040 yards: 44 TDs, 28 Int; Rushing: 457- 3127 (6.8 avg) yards: 37 TDs --> 3rd pick6-5 235 pounds

Not bad for an NFL #3 wide receiver. Also, Jones did it versus the SEC when he was often the only weapon Arkansas had.

Makes you wonder why Vick and Young aren't starting wide receivers in the NFL, doesn't it?

In last year's college section, someone posted that Jones has an arm injury that prevents him from throwing the football a lot. That was a reason for no NFL interest as a QB. Did anyone ever confirm this?

it wasn't his arm; it was his shoulder. it is true. it prevented him from ever getting many practice reps throwing the ball during his tenure at Arkansas.

that said, it's pretty impressive what he accomplished throwing the ball considering how raw he was and with his inconsistent throwing motion.
